Has someone managed to do a roadside 11 speed chain and cassette singlespeed conversion? Or is everything to close with 11 speed?
Yesterday my derailleur wrapped itself around the cassette. Might be because I was to lazy to really check chain length, might be that one of the pulley wheels broke. 11 Speed 5800 with 11-32 cassette.
I tried to single speed it on two different cogs, but the chain kept shifting. So I walked to the next train station.

What do you mean?
Single speed conversion.
Did you just ride in one gear or break, re route and shorten the chain?
Not sure why it would move between sprockets unless rhe mech was still part of the chain -

Check there isn't a setting somewhere in gephi that directs it to your installation of java.

thanks, yes that's solved it. Now just need to work out how to use Gephi

Hanger broke off, so no more derailleur. Shortened the chain and choose what I thought was the cog that gave the straightest chainline.
I know that works on 8 speed, but I am not sure it could work with 11 as the cogs are so close and the chain just hits the ramps and climbs/shifts. -

Adjust the High/Low screws to stop it jumping up/down to the next sprocket?

• #88110
No mech.

Thanks for the replies! Thats how it looked:

I have two hangers arriving, so will carry a spare from now on. Real serious long distance emergency kit
But I wonder if it could somehow work with 11 speed. Or, as I said further up, there is just not enough space between cogs?

That's not actually sealed.

How budget? Optoma seem to be decent value with cheaper models aimed at entertainment rather than business/schools/etc.
You’ll almost certainly need separate speakers as well though. -
• #88115
What I mean is that I can't get access to the batteries without somehow wrapping it back up in shrink-wrap or something like that. And I expect swapping the batteries might involve soldering/de-soldering which is a level of faff that I'm not sure I want to deal with.

11sp (6800) rear derailleur with 10sp (TT) shifters. Will I die?
-
• #88118
Friction should be fine no?
-
• #88119
Yeah I'm thinking I'll do that. Do you think a spare FD friction shifter will have the range to be used to shift a RD across a whole cassette?

I go one for 100 from Argos. It came with a vga cable. Can’t remember but I think it’s hdmi compatable. You will need extra powered speakers, Bluetooth works for me but I only use it for work. I have used very expensive projectors for work also. There’s negligible difference in output that I can see. You may think differently. The projected surface has more of an impact imho. Don’t forget to buy cables/adapters. It’s in my car so I can’t tell you the model, but it was a cheap cheap cheap one.

Looks alright. I'm mainly concerned about the capacity being far less than what's usually promised by dodgy Chinese sellers, so was wondering if anyone had a recommendation. That guy looks reputable though, and he's in Glasgow so I could always go and fight him if he rips me off. Cheers.

I've bought from him before and he seems decent. He also seems to be very keen on lights and batteries http://www.torchythebatteryboy.com/

Torchy is a first class trader and really knows his stuff: if he's selling it, it's sound.
Duckle the name and you should find his website: might be cheaper than eBay and there's loads of good info on lights and also tests he's done on Chinese batteries and chargers.

hahaha soo funny,! did you really dream this? and asked about it here? haha nice! :)
-
• #88125
Yeah, I've actually come across his website before whilst looking for lights. Didn't realise he did the batteries too. Will get one ordered, probably will wait til after Christmas though as I'm feeling rather more poor than I'd have liked
Nah the one I've got is sealed up
