Found a couple of decent airbnbs around Mission. Is it worth looking for cheaper places further out or would that be a false economy?

I would check out prices in Berkeley as well - you can catch the ferry across the bay very easily.
even though SF is friendly for non-drivers, a car is very useful if you want to get outside the city limits.

Definitely go visit Alcatraz. Seems naff on paper, but actually really interesting.

Anyone shipped a bike abroad (via courier)? What did it cost?
Having a mare trying to organise one to Italy...

I shipped DPD via Parcel2Go to Berlin which was a pain but went alright in the end. Cost 26 pound with insurance I think. This was for a frame so I guess a bit more for a full bike

This is the combo I use, seems to be the cheapest I've found. Have had several issues with the pick up though, dpd is a bit shit

Anyone know best place to get some A1/A0 frames? I've made some posters this year I'm really pleased with and looking online can't really find any nice ones in that size. Would I have to go custom?

Thanks a lot. So long as it's less than £60 it's still less faff than Ryanair.

The Range, or one of these kind of warehouse-like homeware stores.

How big is the box you got? I think the max dimensions you can have is around 100x80x25cm. I usually fiddle round with them until it finally shows the dpd option. Not sure exactly, but I've always thought it was dpd all the way.

Nice, I'll have a look

I was gonna try send it in the oversized B&W bike box, for Max Power protection, but maybe I'll have to opt for a cardboard box out the local shop. B&W is something like 120x85x35 or something.

Why does white wine (probably red too) taste fucking rank out of a bidon? Bleurgh.

Glass bottle not fit in the cage?

How about a spesh purist bottle? Some coated plastic inside to make your liquids taste how intended.

Lol at legit answers!
What's the spesh purist bottle?
Two different bottles have been nauseating out of a bidon - one Californian mixed 'semi-dry' offie special, the other a cheap and cheerful pinot grigio from M&S. Can't tell you whether the Californian wine would have been better in a glass as I just drank it all anyway. The pinot grigio is much nicer in a glass.

terrior needed

I thought your question was rhetorical/sarcastic. The reason may be that the ingredients don't mix well with plastics - a big reason why wine comes in glass or coated bladders. The other culprit will be agitation - you're shaking it about too much and that agitation could change the flavour significantly.

It was. Bored on the train with gross wine.

Quiz question: Which extremely famous mountain biker and TV presenter does this bike I spotted today belong to? I couldn't be arsed to work out which porn thread to put it in to annoy people the most. Obviously Google image search will give you the answer, but then you probably cheat at pub quizzes too.

I realised it wasn't serious but thought there might actually be something in it. Specialized purist bidons. Something to do with science.
Pretty good public transport, and very walkable for US, so don't worry too much about location but avoid Tenderloin. Castro/Mission district probably as far South as you want to be. Ride from say Ghirardelli Square via Crissy Field to GG bridge is on dedicated off-road cycle paths.
