  • Aye, fair points. Have been meaning to replace them for a bit now but was hoping to get to spring proper before putting new kit on bike.

Bit late now but let's hope it isn't a disastous problem with the cassette - just leaving for a 220km ride :)

  • The cassette is probably just worn by the worn chain but won't explode, thing to worry about would be chainring wear if you've left the chain far too long. I reckon that as the whole cassette moves as one it's probably play in the freehub.

  • By the time you've got hold of the new parts and fitted them, it'll be spring proper.
(Assuming you live in the UK and not some frozen wasteland like Antarctica, or Grimsby.)

  • Skipping gears maybe but I seen worse.

Just check the rims wear first, no point in worrying about freehub/cassette when rims is worn out.

  • Proper rim inspections are important.

  • Need to clean off some shit before you can see how badly worn it is through years of riding.

  • Fnar.

  • I just bought a wheel on EBay and I could have sworn it had a postage option, I thought I'd checked the price and everything.

Turns out it's in Driffield, Yorkshire, which is in the middle of fucking nowhere.

Does anyone on here live in the middle of fucking nowhere who could collect and post for a fee before I start trying to talk him into Shiply?

FFS. Negative feedback fully deserved by me

  • it's in Driffield...before I start trying to talk him into Shipley?

Surely to a Londoner, Shipley is just as remote as Driffield 😀

  • Please, try the fish.

  • Your bank probably wasn't lying, but that's no reason for you not to request a non-contactless card - at least that's how Nat West and Capital One operate.
I found contactless to be a pain and have since requested and received non-contactless cards.
    Much happy now.

  • There's probably a part you can stab to make it non contactless, or contacty or whatevs it should be.

  • Looking for a 11 sp road hub that can easily be spaced for 135mm dropouts, any suggestions?

  • any suggestions?

Get a road disc hub which is already 135mm (e.g. Shimano FH-CX75), you lose practically nothing by having the disc mount on there.

  • I live 26 miles away. I could go collect the wheel and post it Thursday or Friday.

  • result. forum love

  • Luckily the guy has agreed to box it up and let a courier collect.

Thanks a lot for the offer though, I really appreciate it!

  • Anywhere in central or south London sell Loctite 222, does anyone know?

  • What would be the forum-approved best way for me (with minimal skills) to set up a fairly basic website with an online shopping capability? I'd need to be able to set up and manage it all myself for cheaps.

  • I have an open small tube of 243 if that's any use?

  • Squarespace is very easy, dependent on stock count they take a small fee per month (starts at ~$20 per month).

  • forum-approved ... online shopping

    lfgss.cc shopping runs on Shopify

  • Shopify is very popular. It's all a balance between paying more per month or transaction Vs doing more of the website development yourself.

  • Cheers, but I'm gonna stick (haha) with 222. I'm already pushing the spec of what it's supposed to be doing, so at least i want to adhere (hahahhaaaa) to the rules on what type of threadlock to use ;)

  • Rode 220km yesterday and it was fine mostly. Couldn't really do 'jumps' of effort otherwise it'd skip but that didn't bother. Will check rim wear and if that's fine, order new cassette and chain.
