  • So do they not have any zips? Just velcro?

Also there doesn't seem to be flap at the top, so is it just a good fit that make them work?

(my old overshoes are fucked mainly because of broken zips, etc. so currious)

  • Yup, just velcro all the way up the back. They don't split apart completely at the bottom, so guess it does depend on a good fit to ensure it's kinda tight on your heel to keep the bottom bit in place. Then you've got some choice as to how tight you do the velcro on the way up.

I've had a couple of really crap Tenn branded products before, but these are good quality for the money (in my opinion).

  • Are there any Sigma helmet stockists in London?

  • I want to get some extra hand positions on a bike with flat bars so I'm planning on popping a couple of small bar ends on, but shifting them into the middle. Will any bar ends work? I guess the clamp diameter is the same as a brake lever so will slide as far as one of those?

  • Clamp diameter will vary wildly.
Do the bars have any bends at all?

  • nope
    i assumed everything was 22.2....

  • Sorry, I meant the length of the clamping area.

  • Rise and sweep will impact it. I was going to do the same thing years ago, but they were risers.

I'd look for ones which had a narrow clamp - cheaper ones would prob be best. Planet X used to sell these Cinelli things called Spinaci that were banned back in the day.

Maybe post a wanted add on here as I'm sure people must have bought them. They may cost a little more, but should be better suited (for 26.0mm bars I think).

  • I need a Shimano 105 ten speed front mech clamp for a CAAD 5. Anyone know the right size. Apologies if this has been answered previously.

  • I've seen some bars on here ages ago that scott brp had on a bike, but i can't find a pick of them. tehy looked a bit like antlers, two sets of bar ends (one at each end, two in the middle) all wrapped with nice black tape.

what clamp size are normal shimano hydro levers?

  • I want little-uns like this:

  • Anyone got a shimano sm-ax58 thru axle they can measure for me?

  • Does it have a 27.2 seatpost? If so it's almost certainly for a 31.8 band on.

I recommend you get a 31.8 braze on adapter and a braze on front mech. More versatility.

  • I assume there's an app to spoof SMS?

I took a phone call last evening, that revolved around me not receiving a text message on Saturday.

As I put my phone down I saw I had an unread message: the one that was supposedly sent on Saturday and it showed that that was when it was sent...

Against the date and time is a locked padlock symbol, which suggests that the date and time can be edited.

  • Depends - if you are (or were on saturday) somewhere with terrible signal and haven't used the phone since then, it's possible that the message didn't come through and your carrier didn't bother resending till you re-connected during the phone call. I've had stuff like that before but normally over a period of hours rather than days.

  • SMS is not guaranteed, so messages can be sent by the sender and remain on the network without being delivered for some time, up until a week I think from my memory of the spec.

    However, spoofing is easily done;

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMS_spoofing

  • On my (Android) phone, messages are normally timestamped by receipt, but tapping the message reveals the timestamp of sending.

According to http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/33715-39-time-stamp-messages the sending timestamp is set by the sender's network, not the sender's device (or application).

  • If you had no network or your phone was off I wouldn't be surprised by an SMS delay.

Mobile coverage out here varies from intermittent if I'm lucky, to none at all, and it can sometimes be days before I go into town - texts taking several days to come through or being re-sent three or four times (presumably by the senders' service provider) are not unusual in in the wilds of Shropshire.

Having said that, you'd probably notice if your phone wasn't working or you'd spent three days away from civilization?

  • Thanks all!

I haven't been out of network coverage (and neither has the sender) and I've sent & received several messages without issue during the period in question.

Although that remains a possibility, the co-incidence stretches my credibility: the message was received shortly before, or while I was taking the call and the sender would have known I was getting that call...

Plus the message is clearly manipulable: apart from the padlock by the timestamp (which doesn't appear on other messages), it's a "disappearing" message (although the timer is set off).

That and the fact the sender is a smart-arse little shit who, given the choice, would rather make me look like a cunt than admit they'd forgotten to contact me.

@Emyr The timestamp [lol] on that link is 2005: I'd think things have changed by now.

  • Ask to see their phone.

  • Then shit on it.

  • Then shit on it.

Duplication of effort: I'm gonna shove it up his arse and let him do the heavy lifting.

  • I am looking at getting some stickers made up with some custom wording that need to be fairly sturdy, I guess done on vinyl?

I literally have no idea about stuff like this - So can anyone recommend a good place on line to get this done? I don't really want to spend loads as it is mostly just to carry on a dumb joke.
