  • I want to access a report from Ibis World - does anyone have a subscription or know of a way other than paying $1000?

  • Theres a song im trying to find by Wu Tang Clan which is about there being two sides to every story, I seem to remeber there was one of the verses about a chap having sex with an attractive girl and getting congraualted by his chums, but the duality is brought in to focus by him discovering he has contracted AIDS.
I cant find it for ther life of me, can anyone help?

@HatBeard I suspect will be able to use his vast knowledge to help me...

  • What is this bike that I saw at the weekend? Googling didn't throw anything up other than people doing charity cycle rides for OCD charities.

  • Are you sure it's Wu?

  • 'America' from the America Is Dying Slowly compilation album? Seems right after a Google and a quick read over the lyrics?

  • Where the heck were you that had drawn together the heady and eclectic mix of a Cavalier Convertible, MkI Cortina, Hillman Minx convertible, Fiat 500 and what looks suspiciously like a Datsun Sunny?

    No idea about the bike.

  • Looks like London Tube Map, turned into a bike.

  • I'm doubting myself now, there were three parables in the song as I remember

  • Yes, I thought it was that too, but I im sure there three tales in it, the one I mentioned, one about making fun of a kid when he was small and then he grows up and comes back with a gun and another i forget.

I could be mis remebering though, but I'm pretty sure.

  • Cheers, really useful source that.

  • Really? Which song? I dont remeber Guru's voice on it...

  • @spotter Tearz from 36 chambers

  • BINGO! Thank you

The verse I was thinking of was:

Me and my man, my ace big Moe from the shelter
Bout to hit the skins from this girl named Thelma
Now Thelma had a rep that was higher than her neck
Every girl from Shaolin dissed her respect
We was stimmy, you know how it is when you're blitzed
Three o'clock in the morning, something got to give
Moe said he'll go first, I said I'll take next
Here, take this raincoat and practice safe sex
He seemed to ignore, I said, "Be for real!
"She's not even worth it to go raw deal."
    A man's gonna do what a man's gonna do
He got butt-naked and stuck the power U
Twenty minutes went by, Moe I'm out without a doubt
I'm not pumping up, I am airing out
Hey yo, he came out laughing with glory
I'm surprised, he's still living to tell his story
But he carried on with the same old stuff
With Stephanie, like a Whammy, he pressed his luck
Moe tried to be down with O.P.P
Ain't nothing wrong but he got caught with the H.I.V
Now no life to live, doc says two more years
So after the laughter I guess comes the tears

  • I need tyres for the 1,400 miles or so on this trip to Berlin and back. (shameless plug - justgiving.com/swindonberlin )

What are my best value tyre options?

Conti GP4000s II ? Or is there something better?

Gatorskins are cheaper, maybe they'll be ok?

  • Cool Chavalier

  • Surely Marathons if all you care about is durability?

  • only if he doesnt care about comfort...

I'm looking at doing LDN - Berlin too, I'll be using panaracer pasela, ive had many thousands of problem-free KM's touring with them.

  • It was the Vintage Carboot sale round Kings Cross. A whole variety of stuff there https://www.flickr.com/photos/mauwf/albums/72157667348301705

  • @pdlouche In fact, last time I went touring in germany with @tommmmmmm Im pretty sure he had GP 4000s and he was plagued with punctures, they just couldnt handle the extra weight on them, must have had 6 pinch punctures, that could have been to their lower volume compaired to my 32c paselas', but he was forced to change to some conti tour ride (or something similar) after a while.

  • @tallsam @spotter durability yes, but comfort and 'speed' is important, it's a long trip and I don't want to spend half my effort pushing heavy tyres along.

I've had a couple years of squaring off gatorskins and currently a cracked shed-stored gp 4 season is on the front of the bike. A set of Pro3's I was using squared way too soon, but the grip was there of course. Preferably something fast, like a training tyre that's good for miles and no worse on resistance.

@spotter when are you going? I leave on the 4th. Are you camping or credit card touring, or?

I'm riding a road bike so max is 28c's. Bikepacking with limited kit.

  • Currently looking at the end of may, depends how much work I've got. I'll be camping, unless the weather is truly awful inwhich case I may duck into a hostel.

28c should be ok for bike packing becuase the weight will be spread, i.e. not just over the rear wheel as you'd have with a rear rack. so you may be ok.
