  • Ah, no idea then. I've always been happy with 105/ultegra ones on my roadbike, but that's less helpful for you

  • Just grab a shimano one.

  • Not really

Get your frame faced if you haven't already

  • Who agrees with this?

Shimano have gone out of their way to make their outer rings highly resistant to flexing when the chain is pulling them sideways

  • That is music to my ears. Is this true?

  • Is this true?

It's true for 7900/6700/9000/6800/5800, where Shimano have essentially forged the chainrings into shapes which are an extension of the spider arms rather than just flat plates.

  • Off to Brussels tomorrow. The people of Molenbeek have been properly vilified of late so if I get the time I'm thinking of showing my love by having a coffee there or something.
If so, which place to go to and which route to take?

  • Youngspeak query, someone I know said she was talking to "a goat".

When in reference to a guy, what does this mean?

(the goat isn't me, by the way)

  • Greatest Of All Time, a very nice person I guess

  • Short for goatse.

  • I'm not sure, it should work fine, I would need to actually see the bike to make a good assessment.

FSA is O.K., just that Shimano chainset work better with the Shimano shifters.

  • Beautiful. Thanks for that info

  • I'd love for you to look at the bike but I'm no where near London. Thanks though. Don't know if you were offering but thanks anyway.

  • URL shorteners without a way to preview are especially annoying.

URL shorteners also introduce security/privacy vulnerabilities

  • Is there a rule of thumb about the bcd and chainline (of middle ring position) for Shimano HT2 triples?

  • I want to strip, de-rust and paint a bit caste iron BBQ.

I've used Jenolite before and liked it. However, as I think I'll need a decent amount I'm looking for a cheap solution.

    Any tips?

  • Anyone around here got a preference in terms of best place to get a Turkish(ish) shave in Bethnal Green?

  • Thanks, I've got a guest visiting from Canada who would like a Turkish shave. I'll let him know some cunt on the internet thinks he's not cool.

    Anyone else?

  • Google 'electrolytic rust removal' if you want cheap, although it will probably involve a bit of DIY.
I've used epsom salts as the electrolyte and disposed of the used liquid in the garden without any obvious problems.

  • Ted's Grooming Room on Commercial St.

I used to use the one over off Charlotte Street. Bit more of a mash up of Turkish and English styles to suit the locals but never failed for an excellent full on hot towel wet shave. They even do the flicky burny ear hair thing.

There may be less commercial options.

  • Thanks, bud!

  • Not Bethnal Green but there are plenty of decent places on Green Lanes

  • Yeah, thought about it, but a bit of a hike.
