You have know how to use the search :-)

(I've just changed the thread title so that it shows up if you search for ultratorque or ultra torque)

if you search for ultratorue or ultra torque
'Ultratorue' doesn't get any search results. :)

110bcd. It's a stronglight impact chainset. Currently looking at some ta zephyr rings.

You can find this if you search "search", although you may not think of searching for search unless you knew there was a thread about searching with search in the title.
Not necessarily the most straight-forward interface https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/253146/

Ta, will give them a go. Those Surly rings, they are good for single ring applications more than shifting I presume?
-
• #75585
Yeah, single ring only with those as there are no pins/ramps to aid the shifting.

If someone repairs something, how long should you expect it to stay fixed? A year? 6 months? Forever?
Window lock on double glazing.
-
• #75587
Did it break in the same way as before, or a new way?
-
• #75588
Same way.
-
• #75589
Bear in mind that it might be a crap design, but if it broke quite quickly (6 months? How often is it used?) I'd be pissed, but if it lasted a good while and then broke again I'd look for a new design. Are you sure it's not how you're using it that's broken it?
-
• #75590
Pretty sure....
-
• #75591
Did they replace anything? Might be a warranty on parts?
-
• #75592
Dunno. Called window fixer. Window fixer fixed window. I paid.

• #75593
my vasectomy is holding up (balls crossed)
-
• #75594
Are you sure you're using it right? Might be old?
-
• #75595
Have you tried back-flushing?
-
• #75596
^^ I that for me?
yes and yes -
• #75597
I would expect a warranty of at least a year on something like that. I would expect it to stay fixed for a "reasonable lifetime of the product". A window lock is something I would expect to have a lifetime of at least five years unless, for any reason, that lifetime is likely to be shortened.

Same here. I think he's replaced the bit of metal that goes into the groove when you lock on vent.

Can someone help me, a public transport nodder, out with train booking/logistics.
Essentially, I need to do the following:
16th Apr
Bournemouth > Brighton
(pick up marathon registration pack)
Brighton > Eastbourne
(stay at parents)
17th Apr
Eastbourne > Brighton
(run marathon)
Brighton > BournemouthCan I get a Bournemouth > Eastbourne "Off-peak return" ticket? It state the following:
Break of Journey
You may start, break and resume, or end your journey at any intermediate station along the route of travel. So, would I be able to pop into Brighton, then get back on the train to Eastbourne, or will the machines at the Brighton station exit keep my ticket when I leave?...

From: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/ticket_types/46590.aspx
Break of journey
Break of journey is allowed on the outward portion of Off-Peak tickets unless otherwise indicated by a restriction shown against the ticket's validity code and in all cases on the return portion of Off-Peak return tickets.
You may start, break and resume, or end your journey at any intermediate station along the route of travel on Off-Peak tickets unless the ticket restriction for the journey you are making does not allow it. If you intend to start, break and resume, or end your journey at any intermediate station, please call 03457 48 49 50 to check if it is available on your specific journey.
Worth calling just to check but it sounds ok (I assume the "and in all cases on the return portion" means it's ok in all cases, the language isn't perfectly clear).
I wouldn't risk the ticket in the barrier, go to the wide luggage barriers where a guard/ticket-inspector is lurking and ask to be let through. Usually they let people through without looking at the ticket you're waving at them.
It's not so much that the engine is shite as that nobody has bothered to create a user interface to let us use it.
