No, you can use Campag, Phil Wood or one of mine, I've still got a couple in 6082T6 1.32"×24TPI

Their lock rings are fine despite being made from cheese.
Use a proper chain whip like the Shimano one instead.

always used to see the adverts for http://ambercentre.com/ on the Bond Street escalators, but seems they are now online only. probably a bit pricier than you were aiming.
I'd try http://www.beadworks.co.uk/ (covent garden) and https://www.creativebeadcraft.co.uk/the-london-shop.asp (off brewer street). There's also a couple of hippy/new age shops in covent garden that sell crystals and semi-precious stones, they might have amber?

Any recommendations for sink/bath drain uncloggers? It's not blocked, just a bit slow.

Laxative.

Bent bit of coathanger, cut off with your Park Tools cable cutter and drag out the gunk. Vile job, did it yesterday......

my mate phil says:
*"followed by caustic soda crystals
relatively dangerous bit:
eye and breathing masks and marigolds on, pour a mugful into the sinkhole and leave for 5 minutes. it'll fizz and start to heat up and produce toxic vapours.realistically very dangerous bit, but effective:
return with a litre jug of just boiled water, double check your protective gear, and pour into the sink in one go. retreat.once the reaction dies down, flush through with two sink bowl fulls of cold water
if caustic gets on surfaces or clothes it produces a soapy highly corrosive film, thoroughly wipe down any contaminated surfaces, still wearing your protective gear. put any contaminated clothes immediately into a cold wash or cold water bucket. if you get some on your skin, flush under cold water only for 5 minutes, there may still be chemical burning and scarring afterwards. if in the eye, flush under cold water and call an ambulance"*
he's a chemist, therefore a bit of a chancer though..
the quote function for tracts of text is shite

This stuff. There is a bathroom version as well.

can i use a 11spd DA chainset with a 10 spd ultegra group?
-
• #74065
As per previous re caustic soda but if you can access the P trap then you can probably sort the problem out and then put the caustic through it's once back together. In my kids' bathroom it is my daughter's long hair which seems to clog it.
-
• #74066
Yeah
-
• #74067
It's always my wife's hair that clogs our drain.
I never use anything caustic to clean it out because it's never worked.
What has worked is to remove the lever actuated sink plug and corresponding plastic piece below it and pulling out the offending bits with an extra long tweezer. I pulled the trap apart once and there was almost nothing there, it was all wrapped around the plastic piece.
The hardest part is re-aligning the steel rod in the trap after I'm finished.
And to keep from puking as I pull up the gummy globs of partially digested hair.

I've replaced the wheel on a friend's bike and had to cold set the frame and respace the rear hub to fit.
Now the axle is too long for the QR to close properly, it is closing on the axle rather than the dropout so the wheel slips.
Spacers on the outside of the dropout, or hacksaw to the axle?
-
• #74069
Think I might have this on my bike. How do you diagnose closing on the axle?
-
• #74070
File the axle rather than hacksaw, presumably you are only going to be taking off a millimetre or so.
-
• #74071
A shorter axle is required, but how you achieve this is up to you; personally, I never miss the opportunity to chop stuff up.
I'd rather use a Dremel though: more sparks and the risk of a life-changing injury always spices things up...
-
• #74072
You can generally see that the axle is flush with the dropout or slightly protruding, it needs to be recessed in the dropout. Especially if you remove the QR and place the wheel in the dropouts.

Measure twice cut once.

Drainbuster. Doesn't do what it says on the tin - it unblocks drains, does not bust them.
Haha, I'd go cheaper if it were possible. It'll be a variety of amber types, so looking more like £15+
Better than a sodding card from Tesco anyway.
