Thanks @Thrasher and @freezing77 I think I'll go for the Lezyne one. Have always been content with their stuff.

I used this bad boy at DJ's a couple of weeks back. It's a fucking beast.

Fuck Lezyne. Get something with a head that doesn't remove your valve cores everytime you use it.
The Hoy pump (not sure if there's multiple models, we have one with a wooden handle?) is nicely finished and its actually standing up to daily high pressure usage (velodrome) better than most of the pumps that have passed though our workshop, including SKS Rennkompressor.

does anyone still listen to music CDs?
I'm going to cull a load that I don't listen to anymore and not sure whether to:
a) bin
b) take to a charity shop
c) list for freecycle here -
• #73657
Yes, some of us are still stuck in the 90s. ;)
-
• #73658
Yep. Prefer the sound quality of a CD and having the packaging to look at.
I vote C then B (charity shop will get rid of anything that's not worth selling or doesn't sell).

d) Get a small amount of money from somewhere like Music Magpie

e) Ghetto clay pigeon shooting.

f) Recreate vinyl scene from Shaun of the dead with children as scale zombies.

g) Make an awesome suit of disco armour for the next fancy dress party you're invited to, if this is more than a month away, make it anyway and wear to work.

But which head?
-
• #73664
My partner will probably do this as they're replacing CDs with vinyl so will be getting rid of decent sellable CDs in hundreds. My slightly ropey early nineties to mid noughties collection, not so much to monetise I suspect. (I'm keeping what I still listen to).

Sks Renkompressor, accept no substitutes.
-
• #73666
Just don't tighten the head so much?
-
• #73667
But which head?
Hirame Yoko, obvs.
-
• #73668
Or buy anything other than Lezyne and tighten the head as much as you want.
Actually it's more like you don't need to tighten the head so much coz it's not the shit Lezyne design and doesn't need to be so tight to not leak but I think the point I'm making us obvious.

We music magpied ours. And our DVDs.
You get way less than market (ebsy, Amazon etc) value but send one parcel to one company instead if sending several hundred parcels to several hundred picky ebayers.

Must find one at that price

Must find one at that price
They ended up being about twice that even when I bought 10 to spread the shipping cost. I've heard good things about the the KCNC, which is not far off the equivalent of ¥4599. Current price for a Yoko from Alex is ¥6480/£39.01, which is probably closer to £80 with shipping and tax.

I'm pretty sure I've broken the 4th or 5th metatarsal in my foot after what seemed like a fairly innocuous stumble a couple of weeks ago. Work means I've not really been able to stay off it which hasn't helped but needs must and all that.
Is there much point in going hanging out at A+E for a few hours to get this verified or should I just strap it up and soldier on? Also, cycling. Yes or no?

• #73674
Yup was thinking about kcnc, I think I saw you poo-poo the vsprint one a little while back

I think I saw you poo-poo the vsprint one
Apparently they work, but it's very obviously a cheap knock off of the Hirame, which is unsporting, and not even that cheap next to the KCNC
