Looks like you could have held 580-600 all day if you'd added another dose at noon. Being a bit low first thing in the morning is normal even for people on a full preventer regime, but your reliever seems to be working. You still need to see your GP/Asthma clinic to get a plan together, and don't assume that the first regime they give you is the perfect one, especially if you go on the beclomethasone there's a huge range of dosing and they tend to start people in the middle. I dropped from an initial 400μg/day generic down to 100μg/day Qvar and my PF held up, but the max is 1600μg/day and some people obviously need that much.

will Dura Ace 9000 chainrings fit on Ultegra 6800 cranks?
Shimano describe them as a B fit, functionally fine but possibly aesthetically challenged

If you go threadless and you want carbon, Wiggle do the Tifosi ones at not bad price.

Very apt then!

Who has used MOOC's before, such as CourseRa, EdX, HBX etc? I'm mainly interested in learning a little bit more about certain things, without necessarily gaining a formal qualification (and I understand with MOOCs a formal qualification is not possible).

I've taken a few courses, work on developing blended/distance learning courses and have met with a few of the main MOOC providers... Anything in particular you want to know about them?

Mainly interested in the answers that the FAQs don't really provide...what are the dropout rates like? Do people just pick it up and then disappear after trying? Does the peer-assessment style of assessing actually work?
Pretty awesome field to work in I have to admit - it seems to be exploding in popularity.

Why Tesco is no longer selling plastic bag?
My local shop in Oval seemed to be handling them out like nothing's happened.

Just before the charge came in, the branches I use were free-issuing bags for life. Maybe they are doing a similar promotion in the run up to Christmas.

If it's a local shop and not part of a big chain then the rules which apply to Tesco et al don't apply.

If it's a local shop and not part of a big chain
How did you manage to parse Ed's enquiry to be about anything other than his local Tesco? :-)

Parsing scoblespeak is fraught with difficulties. I try not to make assumptions when doing so. This can, I admit, lead to some rather odd potential interpretations.

WTF is MOOC?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massive_open_online_course
Basically mini-courses from reputable universities offering something between a taster-level and a full university unit level of understanding. They're very low price/free, fairly high standard, but (mainly) utilise peer marking.
So for example, I'm an engineer, and I'm starting to be moving in the direction of project management. It's still too early for me to consider an MPM or an MBA, nor do I need extra qualification in my current work environment.
A few MOOC providers have some Project Management mini courses which run through the fundamentals, and some more established concepts, which would be handy for me to supplement starting out.
Of course, it doesn't have to do with your job. I'm also interested in a few business courses, history, technology etc...the selection is really huge. Most of the single course ones are free too. They don't really provide any formal qualification as such though, so it can't be used as a substitute if you need that "piece of paper".

To be fair, you're not wrong.

Actually interesting, turn up in person things or distance learning?
-
• #73022
It's all distance learning online.

I've bought a cane from James Smith and Sons as a gift for my father-in-law, with which (the cane) I'm flying to Canada tomorrow. It's too large to fit in our checked luggage and exceeds carry-on size limits. I kind of like the bag they've packed it in - I think he'll get a kick out of it. So what are my options here? Fuck off the bag and pretend I need it or explain that it's a gift and hope that there is some sort of reasonableness in the world of flying?

Is the bag packable?

I think you'd look good with a cane.
