Many thanks @HelicopterHelicopter
@bmx_fred there's a similar HCB photo in that series... everywhere online gives a different credit, so Coppi doesn't surprise me - poor Van Kempen, none of the first thirty links I tried gave me his name. -

Ha, oh, that fell a little flat then!
Mr Sadface is Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, French Number 2 behind Gasquet. He's wonderful.

breakaway rear derailleur bolts - do they work, and if so, which one should I get for a sram force rear derailleur?

Got hold of a meter. First couple of hits on the peak flow were ~500 but then I was blowing 7-800s. My asthmatic friend said I was blowing wrong - you're not supposed to purse your lips like you're blowing out a candle, rather you're supposed 'hoh' at it like you're trying to steam a window, but harder. Doing it his way I dropped back down to 400s, lower than him.

Which meter? The normal issue is this one, which you fellate rather than playing like a trumpet, although I think you'd probably get a lower number by doing it wrong. If you're doing it right, you should be able to do 3 consecutive readings in under a minute and have them all within ±10l.min-1. The software on the electronic one flags unrepeatable readings.

For those who care, bought him some tennis balls and a scratch card.
Everyone likes scratch cards right.

It's a rectangular one. Maybe Pioneer or Panasonic branded.
I'll try it again and see if I can get repeatable readings without 'trumpeting' it.
Probably should do it in the presence of someone medical but like whatevs bro. -

clamps on to the stem apparently and only mention for mounting bag is 'adhesive fixings'...
-

merci - adhesive fixing not my first choice so I think I'll pass, despite the bargain price...

I love the minivelo thing going on with the Mayfair folder, but the bike isn't going to survive. Too much seatpost, too much creaking.
Roughly how much is a custom frame, and has anyone heard from theirmatetheamazingframebuilder making a minivelo/folding bike?
Realistically it's not a bike that needs to be light with the best tubes, it needs to survive a taller rider and a harder life.

So a Brompton then?
Or a Bike Friday maybe.
-
• #72643
Yea after I posted I realised it's a bit of a stupid question - should have thought of Bike Friday straight off. I don't like Bromptons, something about them.
-

They are one of the best folding bike in the world after all, just doesn't look right, incredibly robust as well, and easy to get spare parts from any bicycles shop.
But yeah, Bike Friday is a pretty good option too, a little more customisable for what you want from it.

For sure. It's only a thought in the back of my mind. I'm more likely to save up for a framebuilding course and try see if it's possible to building some kind of funnybike/lopro looking thing with hinges. Probably just ride this thing to death and buy a Raleigh 20.
Talking of frame-building, more simple job, who around London can swap dropouts to track ends?
Actually, who knows where I can source the rear-facing horizontal dropouts with RD hanger?
The Condor lopro had them and I've not seen any anywhere else since.Maybe like this?
Or the crop from the old Condor was like this -

Or you could buy a derailleur hanger for it.
What about the 120mm spacing? might be a little tight with 130mm wheels.

Well there's a chance the next frame I have will be the ratty Lo-pro that @Ndeipi was selling, which is a 1xwhatever tt frame, but I'd prefer to run it fixed, with the option to swap back to gears (or vice versa). Ideally it's remove the current rear dropouts and swap for track style ends with rd hanger.
The Mayfair has horizontal-enough dropouts I could maybe run fixed with it anyway.

What mayfair are you talking about?
-
• #72650
Sorry, the Mayfair is the folding bike, which I thought you thought I wanted to replace dropouts on.
I'm not certain but isn't it one of Cartier Bresson's photos of the Paris 6 day in 1957?
