My mate has one of these, I was impressed with it for its size. Definitely portable and battery life was IIRC decent. Seems its on offer at the minute.

I didn't ever think it would be a worthwhile purchase until I was on holiday with a mate recently and he had a pioneer one, sound was ok but just so useful, I'll definitely get a lot of use out of it at home and great for holidays too.

Who knows? It could be 37-559 :-) Col de la Vie comes in 650A (590) and 650B (584) versions including a 650A which is a bit wider than the usual 26×1⅜ and is marked 26×1½

Not really. In the olden days, they weren't called anything because that's how everything worked, then they were called 'nutted axles' to draw attention to the fact that there was no QR.

From that, I assume his tyres are 650A, 40-590 in unambiguous language.

Got ya, I couldn't work out whether the 1 1/2 or 1 3/8 bit refered to tyre width, or the particular ERD. Seems to be both in most cases. Ordered some Delta Cruisers which are definitely the same 37-590 as the ones they are replacing.

edit: thought he'd somehow managed to fit a 650B tyre on to a 650A rim

Not sure if its due to luck, coincidence or magnets but I've never seen a clamp that doesn't match those criteria. Clearly I'm missing something or not looking hard enough. I've a condor alloy post of unknown vintage in my parts bin that would be good to use in a pinch, and a ritchey comp (or logic, not sure) that could also be available, however if I must buy a new one (I can, but my #buyer spirit is at a low ebb) then I would go for a zipp service course. Probably.

Hiya, my timing on the answer has to do with shipping rates - I'm in Canada. Like tester quoted, and like I said, the tires have 26x 1 1/2 for 26x 1 3/8 rim printed on the side. These are the first that I've seen that don't have an ISO/ETRTO designation, but they most definitely are 37 x 590.

Riiight, thought you were one of them Londoners. Anyway, the delta cruisers were found at spa in 37-590 for mega cheaps, and they are cream which the GF likes the idea of.

So, I bought a cheap 26" rear wheel on eBay. It's a weinnman tm19 rim (which the internet seems reasonably sure isn't disc break specific so hopefully has a brake track?) and whilst there was no mention of braking system in the ad the pictures clearly didn't have a disc hub. The wheel that turned up has a disc hub. Two questions I guess, can anyone confirm that the tm19 rim has a brake track and if so, can I use a disc-built wheel with rim brakes? I assume it is dished slightly differently and has a disc specific hub but don't see why this would be a problem. If possible would prefer not to faff returning it but obviously can do if best. Cheers.

So... My mate has a a 2006/7 Giant TCR Tour d'France Team Once replica with a bust hanger. Apparently the hanger is non-standard and if he can't find a replacement or a bodge the entirely fine frame is suddenly kaput. Anyone have any ideas on a supplier or a bodge?
