  • Got a photo? Are they security fittings or sheer fittings

  • You need to learn to use a tablet and pen, seriously. So much better for you. Search for Monoprice tablets on Amazon - they're not quite as good as Wacoms but they're a hell of a lot cheaper, and work very well. For general pointing they work just as well - I use one for 9 hours a day and it's sturdy enough to hoik around in my bag between clients.

  • My question of the day...
We've got a diesel Skoda, so doubtless this means we're contributing to the deaths of everyone. Sorry about that.
Is there anything aftermarket I can buy to reduce our harmful emissions? Jokes about reducing curry intake are welcome, but not entirely helpful.

  • CAD on a tablet - seriously?
I've never seen anyone do it or considered it myself. Can't even imagine how. Tablet in one hand, keyboard in the other? Very intrigued now...

  • Not a tablet as in iPad. Something like this dude.

  • I don't do CAD but I had issues with regular mice, and a Kensington expert 'mouse' (actually a massive trackball) sorted it night out. Had mine for 7 years and use it every work day and its still as good as new.

  • Hell of a lot of ball stroking going on in this video.

  • Yah I got that...
Hence why I asked about tablet + keyboard working. I've really never seen it for CAD. But I live a sheltered life.

Age, capacity, induction system? It's only a small number of VW engines which had the defeat device, and they just increased NOx in normal use in exchange for reduced CO2, as the SCR used to reduce NOx to N2 needs energy to drive the reduction, some of which comes from oxidising more carbon and hydrogen, therefore higher fuel consumption and corresponding higher CO2 emission.

There's a lot you can do to reduce your emissions without altering your car; drive less, drive slower, lift and coast. If you happen to have one of the VW engines with the defeat device, there's a good chance they won't be doing anything about it in Europe anyway, EU testing is less stringent on NOx compared with the US EPA, which is why we all drive diesels and very few of them have SCR, only a few high output models which are pre-emptively complying with Euro 6 AFAIK. In the US, they may have to fit bigger AdBlue tanks to allow people to use the SCR more of the time.

  • Are there any other brands of (cheaper) lights that are compatible with Cateye rear mount?

  • This is the bolt in question.

  • Yes... Touch of rust on the cleat part but should polish up nicely. You want?

  • I'd go with the suggestion of welding a nut on so you can get a conventional socket onto the bolts.

I would think that they'd just need a tack weld, so it'd be pretty fast work for someone with a welder (which isn't you I know, but a local garage maybe?)

  • We've got a Wacom at home, always use a mouse for CAD work though. Used to use a Space Explorer as well but haven't recently.

  • Where in central london has a g0od selection of giro helmets i can try on for size?

  • Evoluent Vertical mouse.
I have one, it's very comfortable. You move at the elbow rather than the wrist so avoid RSI issues.

  • Can someone remind me how that thing works where it's possible to link to a site you don't wanna send web traffic there, like linking to articles on Daily Mail for E. G. But not going to the site?

    Cheers

  • I think Zinn talks about a problem whereby if the shoe has little contact with the pedal surface it will rock from side to side and eventually fatigue crack your carbon sole.

Thanks. In the meantime I've been scouring weight weenies and other forums and it seems most threads about eggbeaters died out prior to 2010. Oh well, for a moment I thought I was onto something there; minimal shoes + minimal pedals.
Still might go back to Time for road use, but if so I guess I'll have to look for some stiff-soled MTB shoes?

  • 2012 Octavia, 1.6 something something greenline. Sadly it's not red, but I'd quite like to get a TdF horn anyway.

  • @bothwell cheers fella

  • If they're defo bolts, and you don't want to reuse them, just smash a slightly-too-small bihex socket on with a big hammer and undo.

  • Dremel flats on two sides and then vise-grip it?
