Interesting! Will check those levis out
I had a pair of Carhart that seemed a good fit, no idea model no. or which style but there was a shop just north of Covent Garden tube on Endell St.Jeans are pain to find, they seem to fit the waist but super skinny round the thighs.

Bought a second hand Marin Muirwoods for big (2 1/4 inch) tyre fun.
Front derailleur, (no longer named/stickered), presumably low-end Shimano
fails to spring back to smallest chain ring.Cleaned, (removing oily 'mud' from within its crevices), to my best abilty,
deployed WD40 (equivalent) multiple times,
but still no 'spring-back'.Is it worth removing from frame,
and messing with the retaining circlips
and soaking in cleaner/solvent,
or,
once the spring is 'lazy'
is it recommended to replace with something higher up the Shimano hierarchy? -

John Lewis has some nice otp stuff.

Got a China frameset to build which has internal cabling. Like this
Are the white tubes used to guide the cables in and then removed afterwards? Or should they be staying in place somehow?
The underside looks like this, but with the same white tubes running through the cable guides which arent pictured.

My mate needed a suit, went to John Lewis and got sold the one they make the John Lewis staff wear. Wasn't sure if he'd been shafted or not.

yes, drawcords for initial 'pull'; once you have cables in there they can be used for subsequent pulls

Ta, I thought so. What about the bits under the BB shell, naked cable running over those? Should I grease there perhaps?
-
• #68663
are the white drawcords present in those grooves? - yes they are, just re-read your post; so they're designed to be accessed / cleaned - grease a good idea
there's a hole in the middle of the grooves - for screwed access cover?
are the frame openings designed as cable stops or do the entire inner and outer run the full length?

Yes, I believe it's a screw and for access
are the frame openings designed as cable stops or do the entire inner and out run the full length?
They are cable stops (I think! Will check tonight)

so hopefully there'll be a cover supplied with a nice o-ring seal..
anyway, looks a good frame, stealth or re-paint finish?
-
• #68666
Yeah, they're cable stops, I've got a similar frame from Hong Fu. Damn good it is - but when I bought they didn't supply the draw cords.

Cheers for the help. Will have a closer look at the stops tonight.
Going to leave it stealth for now. Am using it as a workhorse bike so trying to keep costs down. But if I end up liking it I will strip it and go for some rad paint job that I haven't thought of yet.
Will post it up in orient express when its finished.

Does anyone have any experience of giving more than the required notice period when leaving a job?
-
• #68670
Why would you give more than what is required?
Why can't I see the general forum any more? Why has it totally disappeared? What did I press?
Why is Hitler? Who is Spain? Where are the Snowdens of yesteryear?
-
• #68671
Yes. I gave my last employer an extra fortnight because I was working on a project for them that I wanted to see complete.
-
• #68672
Did you accidentally press the "ignore" button? Try checking your ignored items: http://www.lfgss.com/ignored/

Why would you give more than what is required?
Because you want to be nice.

• #68674
I have a job due to start in September and I'm rubbish at keeping secrets, but I think I'll just have to keep quiet

Giving extra notice is nice and there's not much the company can do to get rid of you (unless you are talking over 6 months notice)... so you might as well tell them.
M and S and budget for a tailor to adjust it?
