  • Mr Google has gone to bed so I am afraid you are on your own now.

**EDIT. **That's a relief, I wouldn't have got a wink of sleep otherwise.

  • thank mr. google anyway for me.

  • no train arriving or leaving london on a weekday before 10:30 or something like that.

  • Oi cycle forum.

Post it in the train post.

  • I have a road bike wheel equipped with a shimano hub. The hub is missing the innards & freehub.

I was wondering if I simply purchased a new shimano road hub, that I could transplant over the freehub, axle, cones & bearings to the old hub?

I need the hub to fit into an older road frame (126mm spacing I think) are new hub axles the same length? Are the cones & bearings the same size?

  • Easy one, i take it the wheel is a casette freehub. Think that current wheels are 130mm spacing so don't know about how the frame will take a wider hub.

Your problems are twofold - first, all the current freehub bodies are too wide, and second that if your hub is old enough to have been made for 126mm OLN it won't accept a modern freehub body. Also current axles are too long, although that's a trivial issue next to the other things. Show us some pictures, I've got some unused Shimano hub guts left over from Fixxer conversions and can sort you out with parts, but you're almost certainly going to end up with something 130mm OLN and will have to spring the frame.

  • Does anyone else get chilblains? I've got a killer one on my little toe. Looks like the whole digit's going to drop off. Winter cycling is eating me from the ground up. Any remedies or preventative measures?

  • Anybody know of a good pub near Victoria?

  • Is there a better techno DJ than Speedy J?

    No.

  • @ D.Generate: slap bang in the middle of Victoria is barren territory. There are some good 'uns nearby though:
The Horse and Groom is excellent although not quite what it once was
    The Clarendon
The Marquis of Westminster not bad either

    Tony aka surgeon

I saw him at the first ever house of god

He has continually improved and no one can tell a narrative with beautiful yet harsh muscular music better than him.

    Fact!

  • Speedy gets it for me. Got a 3 and a half hour mix of his which is never boring. Builds, builds, builds...expertly crafted. Props to Surgeon though, good Brum lad.

  • Cheers for the links, pigfarmer and Olly. Will check them out.

  • Check out the 3 hour set of surgeon at fabric (not the mix cd he did for them)

Or his recent set in Brisbane
