can anyone recommend a low stack 1 1/8 headset, 25mm or less? it seems crank bros don't make theirs any more

KCNC Radiant R3 Headset spring to mind .. 21.5 mm stack
-
• #64780
Hope looks like 17mm, no?
-
• #64781
thank you.
you don't still have the one you were trying to sell by any chance do you?
-
• #64782
For 1 1/8 non-integrated (EC34), You'd need Hope cups 1 and A, total 31mm.
-
• #64783
Ah, my bad, was just looking at the height of cup 1.
-
• #64784
Most FSAs are about 31mm.
Cane Creek 10/40 are 28mm."Acor" Steel-cup £13 headset is listed on ebay as 23mm.
I gave up and bought another fork.

I think I will rather horrifically plump for a FSA Hammer, 24.2mm stack, and only £15. It's really just an attempt to make a pair of forks that are a tiny bit too short work so spending £100 on a headset doesn't really make sense when I could just buy new forks. however if you do still have that KCNC Oswald then do let me know

What's out there in the world of fixed/disc brake hubs?
-
• #64787
phil wood? or surly fixxer
-
• #64788
Trials hubs, some Disc, mostly 32H:
http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/135mm_fixed_hubs/c21.html
No lockring thread on the ones I looked at, many trials riders run a freewheel on the crank with a fixed sprocket on the hub.

Surly do (did?) a 135mm fixed / ISO hub.
Someone on here was machining a double ISO hub for lols IIRC.
Didn't WI do a non ENO Fixed / ISO hub?
-
• #64790
The ENO is available in: disc/ freewheel, freewheel only, or fixed/free.
So that won't work. Surly might be the route to go.

Does anyone make a wide enough double-disc hub so you could use a Velosolo 6-bolt sprocket?
-
• #64792
WTB? In the sale at CRC.

on one, for their fatty wheelset.
edit - it's not double disc. -
• #64794
That looks like a freehub...
-
• #64795
Convert any old shimano internally geared hub? (Just need the shell, axle and bearings really)...
-
• #64796
If that is the same headset as in the other half's fat bike don't bother. They are really prone to rusting.
Or you can have the one from her bike- I just need to remove it before installing the headset I have waiting to replace it.
-
• #64797
or be adventurous with 2 disc side halves, epoxy glue and aluminium tubing (I think carbon is a bad idea) :)

26mm....

I have a box of Raleigh cups in a loft somewhere - probably not much help to you, as it would take a month or two before I got round to picking them up
But - they are pretty easily sourced on ebay and other sites.
