  • Amazon Music - does anyone use it / have an opinion on it?
I have thus far avoided the realm of bought mp3s, but I've noticed that when I've bought a CD recently, it's come with a 'free' mp3 version which requires signing up to Amazon Music. I assume there are DRM things associated with it. Which I'm not sure about. Also whether once you're signed up does it bug you to buy things, conversely is it even useful/useable?

  • I don't think that mp3 has any DRM capability built into it, so you should be safe if you can get it as mp3s.
I seem to remember doing the same thing off amazon a while ago and I haven't had any problem moving the files around.

  • Amazon, as i recall, doesn't do DRM on its MP3s as part of its market differentiation*.

I use it for the odd album, it's never pestered me to buy anything more, and I've never had any technical issues with it.

    * though according to wikipedia this might have changed a bit in the last few years http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Music#Watermarking

  • @hamrack and @bothwell thanks

Wow that actually is quite a lot of associated data :/ will see if its obvious whether or not the stuff I can download is doing this, it does say "explicitly marked".

  • Shopping for a Tai-ti seatpost: are any of these clamp designs better or worse than others?

  • No. 3 gives you very little fore-aft adjustment due to the spacing between the lateral clamp bars - it's the same type as the one I've got on my Brompton, and while it's reasonably easy to adjust (access to the front allen key is a bit compromised) it's the least convenient of the three IMHO. The first type's fiddly to assemble first time round, but after that it's really easy to use. Don't know about the second type.

  • Second type can be good, it's the same as Enve use. However knockoff seatposts have a habit of not holding very securely, so it may be worth using some fibre grip paste whichever model you go for.

  • Number three is the same as the 3T stuff and it's a pita to adjust in my experience...

  • I think No 1 is a Ritchey copy. Can be good but stresses the rails more than wider designs.

  • Type two edges it!

    Thanks all.

  • Whats the best way to post a bike frame? slivery services available etc

  • In a box

  • Any delivery services you have use before that are good?

  • parcel2go

  • Same clamp on my USE Sumo seatpost. Works really well in my case.

  • It's easier for me to go to the PO than book a courier: Parcelforce 48hr is £15-odd and haven't lost or squashed one yet...

  • Amazon Music - does anyone use it / have an opinion on it?

Fine on windows / mac / android. Useless on Linux.

Range of music is as good as any other, I guess.

    I still prefer spotify though.

  • Amazon has given you online copies of all the physical CD you have bought via them.

  • What's the point of the World Daily News Report website, and who writes it?

It calls itself 'satire', but it's just baffling as the stories are inane and unfunny, and most annoyingly, written with atrocious grammar and spelling.

    What's the point? Fuck off.

  • It's still more intelligent and relevant that MailOnline

  • I've just stripped the tyre off a rim in order to send the wheel back to Paligap (damn their eyes).

In so doing I discovered a ding in one side of the rim, at the very top of the braking surface- I'd not felt it pulsing when applying the brakes.

Should I just ignore this, or attempt to bend it back out?

  • Is Carbon bendable?

  • It's a HED Belgium rim
