What about the weekend ride thread? Most of that is people posting rides they've enjoyed?

@mdcc_tester thanks for the reply, I will keep in mind those sites.
Do you think sourcing an old 126 wheelset from the likes of eBay would no problem?

Screw on, 6-7sp?
-
• #62955
Cold-set/spring the frame and use 130mm freehub?
-
• #62956
If it's steel then consider cold setting it to 130mm spacing.
http://sheldonbrown.com/frame-spacing.html
Depending on the hubs you may not even need to. From that page:-
Ideally, the frame spacing should exactly match the hub spacing. This makes for easiest wheel replacement. In practice, however, there's a fair amount of latitude in fit. In fact, when the first 130 mm 8-speed hubs were introduced, they had locknuts with beveled sides, so that you could "spring" apart the rear triangle of a frame made for the then-standard 126 mm spacing.

Another vote for 130mm hub if its a steel frame.

Cheers, yeah I do follow that, but obviously it's a pretty long thread...was hoping for a greatest hits. Surprised a thread like that doesn't exist already.

EDIT
Didn't realise there was another page. -

Cheers guys I'll try squeezing on the Mavic Ksyrium rear from my road bike when the frame arrives.

A long shot, but does anyone have or know of a Soma porteur rack I could borrow for this weekend? Specifically Soma because it has axle mounts.

Rained off: what should I do with my day?
-
• #62963
I'm sure snotters will be along in a moment with some suggestions

Why have Giant increased the price of their 105 equipped tcx slr 2 by £50 when 105 5800 is cheaper RRP than 5700? All the other bits look pretty much unchanged, apart from an FSA Gossamer rather than Omega chainset. Takes it out of the cyclescheme price range, which is surely gonna dent their sales, which considering how long it took the Spyres to come back from recall, weren't as strong as they would have liked last year?

If an ssl certificate is being shown as issued by a "Proxy Certificate Authority", does that means it's a copy of a genuine certificate, being hosted by a man-in-the-middle?
So any traffic between browser & website is visible to the man-in-the-middle?

Are campag record pista cranks that have been put on a JIS BB now unusable on all BBs?
-
• #62967
No. The taper angles on JIS and ISO are the same, so it shouldn't have damaged the tapers.
-
• #62968
Don't know if you are still looking but Moto G is good. Both 3 and 4 G versions available and not too pricey either. Should do all that you want.
-
• #62970
That's what I was hoping but for some reason the NDS crank cracked when being tightened onto the BB so I assumed both would be fucked for some reason.

View the certificate and see who issued it - root CA, intermediate CA or self-signed. I'm not sure what you mean by 'proxy certificate authority' though.
In any case, your traffic is still encrypted. It is just a question of who holds the keys and can decrypt it.

Keirin grips or bar tape for my new track bike. Track not tarck. Going on PRO Vibe 7S bars, if it makes any difference.
-
• #62973
I prefer tape. I also prefer Lake shoes and Selle Italia saddles, i.e. do what pleases you, not what somebody else likes.
-
• #62974
Ah, but I've never tried track grips, so I don't know if I like them or not. Only one way to find out, I suppose...
-
• #62975
Try the track grips. Lots of fun to get on.
This.
Just wait until the Day of (W)Reckoning though.
