  • I used this a lot too, and search by User (I liked being able specify All Posts or Threads Started By.

You can still do this - go to user profile, then click on conversations (threads) or comments (posts), and then you get a list, with the search sting that generated that list in the search box, so you can add your own terms

  • Where can I buy Phil Wood Tenacious Oil from in the UK?

  • Might be worth asking this question in the bike fit thread.

  • Anyone know a good video of Robin Williams stand-up? Lots of stuff on the radio about how funny he was, but I can only find his lame mainstream stuff. I loved Mork and Mindy when I was a kid.

  • There's some full length ones on YouTube. I recall watching one a couple of months ago.

  • Does anyone know a good place online that sells a range of timbers? Sizes, grades, different woods etc...? I just want to check out prices.

Cheeky little bump for this. If it makes anyone feel better I've slashed all prices to clear.

  • mrs_com has a project in work that needs a couple of sheets of ply or OSB (basically flat sheeting that can be painted and will stand by themselves against a wall) about 2m by 1.5m each or thereabouts.

Where in London would she be able to order this and have it delivered to Islington. Pick up/collection is not an option.

  • Well, this is an exercise in shopping around. Starting with Wickes as a (shit) benchmark @ £60 delivered, for 2x 8 x 4 sheets of osb. List a few suppliers like Travis perkins, B+Q etc. and start to see. I would try and find a local building site and see if I could buy a couple (you never know)
Failing that, check ebay and gumtree.

You'll want the Site Agent. Easy to spot: he'll be the fat, lazy, corrupt, self-important half-wit with a vicious streak, an axe to grind and a case of shit lager under his desk.

  • ooh that site agent sounds 'orrible. Might be best to make your own out of papier maché.

  • Apparently I can no longer access Netflix unless I signed up to MetroPCS 4G, despite the fact I got a subscription.

What's on earth is going on?

    edit - tried to sign in, got the T-mobile one as well;

  • I hope not: the "axe to grind" bit, would be to do with us shitting in his beemer.

  • a local building site (in response to sausagefingers) is unlikely to deliver.
what's wrong with Travis Perkins? or try a local timber merchants:

I would say that 2x1.5 is an odd size - many places will cut down to size for free. standard sheet sizes are 1.22x2.44m. you can get 3.05x1.525m but stock/type is more limited.

  • Mainly cause TP sourced timber from illegal trader previously.

  • as ever, for a friendly London timber merchant I'd recomend PJ Johnsons 020 8205 5000

  • Only had a rough idea of size. Ordered a few sheets of OSB from Wickes.

  • A local bulding site definitely won't deliver. The point is, he can take it home himself...because it's local.

  • I ordered a pair of carbon forks from China. They're fine, apart from the fact that the brake drilling is not quite inline with the crown, so that when a brake calliper is mounted, it does not sit flush against the front of the fork. Instead of trying to correct the drilling, which could end horribly, I'm thinking that an angled washer might solve the problem.

    Can you buy these?

FYI this brake is being mounted on a fixed geared bike (fixie) with 2 brakes, so I'm hoping to not rely on the brakes too much.

  • Any recommendations for carbon assembly paste, and where to order from?

    Thanks

  • Tacx, plenty of stockists online so jfgi to find one that has stock at the right price

  • loads of places out of stock, just trawling, is the tacx Tester Approved then? I was just iffing and erring over that and the finish line stuff.

  • The Tacx stuff works really well for my heaviness-induced seatpost slippage. Doesn't seem to scratch shiny things either.
