You should do it with all tyres, you'll rarely need levers again.

What kind of tool would I use to remove a nut that has the "flats" on the inside?
It's inside a tap.

An Allen key?

An inverse spanner.

A 1 1/8" nut held in mole grips?
That, with a couple of lock nuts on it, might work really well.

Where could I get one from?

Installed a new BB and chainset (Miche Primato Advanced and 107mm BB) over the weekend. Because the inside of the bb shell was rusted, the longer threads of the new BB mean it wouldn't install flush, leaving a ~1mm gap between the shell and the flange. It seems secure enough and I've made marks so I can tell if it moves at all.
Figured I'd get the threads sorted, but it looks like there's even less than 1mm clearance between the chainstay and chainring bolts so if it's installed properly I'm worried they'll foul each other.
Am I right thinking the solution is to get the threads fixed and install the BB with a spacer? Reckon something like 0.5mm would do it. Otherwise I guess it'd have to be a wider BB, although I was led to believe 107mm matched the chainset, and chainline is ok as far as I can tell.

it says that A foundation degree is a degree level qualification which combines academic study with work place learning.
I guess then thats not what i am looking for... I need something that will 'get me up to speed' for a first year type course. Whats that called?
The OU do "Access Modules" that sounds like what you're looking for (they used to be called "Foundation Modules"):-
http://www.open.ac.uk/courses/do-it/access
There's one for Maths and Science.
There's also a website for helping you choose where you should start if you want to study Maths, with examples of the course materials:
http://mathschoices.open.ac.uk/what-are-your-options
I did a full Maths degree part-time with the OU (2005-2012). Well worth it, although I couldn't afford to do it now the fees have gone up (I paid ~ยฃ4k, it's now ~ยฃ15k).

Clerkenwell Screws? Lewis's?
Of course you might be able to get the correct thing from a plumber's merchant for cheap)

Anyone got one of these bike boxes? http://www.wiggle.co.uk/b-w-bike-box/
Listed as 10kg, which is great as Monarch's limit for bikes is only 20kg, but the reviews I've read are quite polarised; The closure and clasps get mentioned a lot.
Edit: just re-read it and it's 12.5kg. Needs to be 11kg or less :-/
Edit2: Found net and gross weights elsewhere, suggests the wheelbags and accessories total 3kg, WTF??Was hoping a hardcase would reduce stress...

Try UCAS and be patient with their search engine - especially the bit about "leaving a field unselected will return all courses"...
http://www.ucas.com/how-it-all-works/explore-your-options/search-courses-and-training-programmes
http://fd.ucas.com/CourseSearch/Default.aspx
I did an Open university course to build my confidence before going back to school. Level 1 module.
Would recommend xCould be BTEC level 3? You'll have to check - I've been retired for a few years and things change...
If you want to do a degree in Maths, the best place to start is A-Level Maths or A-Level Further Maths. You can do these part time/night school and complete them at your own speed.
My (Redbrick) Uni won't touch anyone that wants to do Engineering or Maths without a good A-level Maths Quals, as most degrees will have their syllabus set up to build on the skills they teach.

All these are brilliant suggestions. Im going to look into them! Thanks a lot.

Can someone tell me the life span of an Ultegra 11spd chain? I've done just over 1,600km and my LBS tells me there is 480km left in it...
-
• #61070
Depends on how it has been used, the conditions it has been used in and has it been cleaned and lubed regularly.
Best to buy your own chainwear indicator so you can get an idea for yourself.

• #61071
2081km.
