I used a halo Allen bolt qr for a while, it was fine... and I'm always over torquing stuff

If everyone's favourite con-merchants Ant and Dec swapped sides when presenting another prime-time feast of blubber, would a nation's collective Saturday night mind seize up?

What is the best allen key skewer out there?
Points awarded for quality of manufacture and longevity.
There are these

Have lasted me a while, good quality and theft proof (fails on the Allen key bit though) -

Or get atomic 22 skewers, not allen key but secure.

it would make sense to convert the front. Alloy axle- strong enough?
Could do, but it's not the look I am after.
Proper bike tarts make new axles when this kind of question arises :-)
I have tapped aluminium alloy front QR axles for M6 screws, strictly speaking the 5.2mm bore of your axle is a bit bigger than the proper pilot hole for an M6 tap, but then keeping rim-braked front wheels attached to the bike isn't a stern test. 12mm of thread engagement and 5Nm tightening torque would be the kind of suggestions somebody minded to suggest such a course would suggest, not that I'm suggesting any such thing.

Discovered a horrible amount of limescale in the kettle so mixed up some strong citric acid and put it in, now there's tons of vapour coming off, it's not dangerous is it?Never mind, it's calcium carbonate so I'll get calcium citrate, carbon dioxide and water.
GCSE chemistry ftw.

It's carbon dioxide, possibly with a bit of steam as the reaction is exothermic so the mix will heat up.

I'm off to Belgium for a couple of days to ride, are there any websites out there with decent routes I could steal? I've tried linking up famous bits of road with Strava and that sort of thing but not knowing the area at all it's probably safer to cross reference against something else.

Best place to bulk buy some long valve (60mm) 18-25c inner tubes at the moment?

is there anyone out there who collects crappy-but-serviceable bike bits? I mean all those crafty types that make belts out of old tyres, clocks out of chainrings etc. I need to get rid of stuff prior to moving house and I can't bear to throw this stuff away but it's not worth anything and I'm never going to use it. anyone want a pair of old wheels, two dried up 5-speed blocks and a bunch of tyres?
what does the forum do? straight in the bin?If you've still got the tyres give them to Betty at VeloRe, she's in Brixton...

Does anyone know of a cheaper version of the Lifeproof iPhone 4s case?
Lifeproof for iPhone 4/4S - Black: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
Basically something that covers front and back, doesn't stop the phone from working, and isn't too big.
Also why do iodine tinchers seem to be so fucking expensive?

Where in Belgium? You could try looking for routes on ridewithgps using your start location as a base: http://ridewithgps.com/find

Have you tried looking for tinctures instead? Suppliers who can spell might also have more sensible pricing.

I descaled my kettle this way and forgot to take the water out. Someone then came and drank said water and presumed that our tea bags were citrus flavoured.

The point of twitter is reading not writing.
Maybe your stuff isn't worth reading, or it doesn't have enough impact to motivate a response.
Could do, but it's not the look I am after.
