What is it called when you replace modify a ULR to a more human readble form.
So instead of
mysite.com/04395%21+morestuff
you define it as

Thankyou please.

Get out of bed and go for a ride to somewhere quiet - it's a sunny Sunday morning, you're supposed to be a cyclist.
Followed your advice, just came back. the weather is amazing, unfortunately
my lungs didn't agree, did about 10 miles until my breath ran out...
Feel better tho. -

Yes, I find a gentle roll around when unwell a good plan too. Couldn't be bothered to work out what combination of clothing and bike would suit my cold and the weather, though, so I just did half an hour spin on the rollers.

I wore a base-layer, wooly jumper and windbreaker... was sweating my tits off after 3 miles.. But i could do with sweating to get rid of the bugs. Feel much fresher now.

Throw caution to the wind and go for Super Record. :P
Chorus is very good value, and Record doesn't offer much more for the money, but you know you'll have a nagging "what if..." if you get Chorus, therefore you should get Record.
The 2011 Chorus has been nicely improved and ressembles 2010 record very closely (a few different materials 60g heavier). Because of the new logos 2010 stuff is popping up quite cheap. So price wise 2011 chorus is very close to 2010 record. Thing is, they made some subtle changes to the mechanics of all the ultrashifting groups for 2011. So 2011 Chorus might actually be better for all I know. Still working out how to pay for anyway, but thanks for the advice.
PS: 2011 SR is a bit gash.

Seems like a suitable time to ask - in practice, why are King's headsets so superior?
When they first came out, they were the best made headset with the best bearings and the most effective seal. They had the high end market to themselves for a long time because it took other manufacturers a surprisingly long time to try to compete. The Cane Creek 110 is probably better and slightly cheaper, but doesn't come in the exciting range of colours of Chris King.
The Chris King is still good, but has a weakness in the centring of the upper bearing due to CK's refusal to pay to license the Dia Compe patented split compression ring. There are after market hacks to add the split compression ring to CK headsets. This only applies to threadless headsets.
For Sumo's bike, the Cane Creek 100 Classic is half the price of a Chris King and definitely more than half as good
Bang, and the query is gone!

This confused me. Because I pronounce that word Tor-toyce. But you must pronounce it tor-tus. Otherwise it would be per-toyce, which is just mad.
Per-*tuss-*us, with the stress on tuss. -

Pertussis is pronounced in the same way you would pronounce 'Percussion'.
Does that make sense ?

I've got one bike with Super Record and one with Chorus and don't really notice that much difference. The changes are a bit crisper on the former, but that's about it, bar the small weight difference.
If you do go for Chorus, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Why are low energy lightbulbs so awful?
These ones are supposed to be equivalent to 100w bulbs, but the room has turned into a gloomy pit of despair and I can't see to read. -

What speed do you cover ground in London?
I'm curious, not matter how fast I cycle, it seems to take me an hour to travel 10 miles. Not sure if this is because of all the traffic lights or if I'm just going sloooooooow.
-
• #5795
Depends a lot on traffic lights, and how many you pay attention to. My old 5 mile commute could take me 15 mins with all green lights, or 30 mins with all red lights.

Amazing thanks for that pifko!
My next question, which I have meaning meaning to ask for ages, is what's the deal with with the similarities Figmo Stealth Track Frame and the Leader 735tr? I noticed TFG stopped selling the Figmo just about the time the 735tr came out. Did leader buy the rights to the design or is it just a coincidence that they are very similar?
Just for reference here is the figmo
and heres the leader:

but without the -ion sound at the end. You can't play percussion if you've got pertusses.
Being stuck in bed with a crushed shoulder and an ankle the size of my thigh made me think about my current bike setup. Build up a Vitus Razor frame with Vitus F600 carbon fork, Shimano R500 wheels and an Ultegra 6600 groupset in good condition. Have just purchased an '04 Specialized Allez Triple frame in great condition, an Easton EC70 (EC90?) carbon fork plus an Ultegra 6500 groupset in a not so nice condition, but including a pair of Open Pros on Ultegra hubs. Trying to decide what frame should be dressed in what and haven't really got any idea what frame is best. They both seem to fit me fine, but since I've got 10% mobility in my shoulden it's kinda hard to tell...
