I am converting drop bars to flats and changing to flat bar levers. Will I need all new brake cables or can I use the existing ones?
-
• #57003
Go crazy and splash out for some new ones.
-
• #57004
You may need new one if the flat bar levers accept mtb cable.
Either way, you'd need new one anyway due to housing length.
-
• #57005
^^^Probably, as you'll likely be using cables with different ends.
-
• #57006
I can't believe you passed up an opportunity to mention nipples.
-
• #57007
But not to play with them.

you'll be fine going drops to flats, not the other way. you can even file the ends of the cables to fit the new levers if you're feeling bodjy, though new inner and outer brake cables at wilkinsons are £2.50 each I think so not a massive outlay

Yes, no point changing the lengths of the old outers to suit your new set up, as you'll change back when you see the error of your ways :-)

Old racers never take the north road.

That's also the answer to Oliver's question
Someone should develop an app for LFGSS members to know whether another is in the vicinity. They could call it Skiddr and it would send the 'Spotted ...' thread into the stratosphere.

And we'd all get laid more.

Is that possible?

Blue jeans are out, everyone knows it, so I'm dying a pair black.
The instructions on the pack do not say whether or not I should machine wash them afterwards or hand wash, and if I machine wash should I wash with normal washing machine powder etc.
Anyone have experience with fabric dye?I want to go from this:

Isn't that one of those harder-to-steal-but-who-would-want-to-because-ugly kickstarter bike lights?

Sparse is such an awful name. I actually think it's a worse than Foffa.

To this:
Depending on the type of dye used, some companies recommend soaking or washing afterwards in either salted cold water or vinegar cold water. Some like it hot. I would google or call the manufacturer for specific instructions.
Either way, never wash these black jeans with anything other than 'dark black' items; they will bleed in perpetuity. -

Cheers.
I didn't achieve the noir I had hoped unfortunately.
