Just use a front set-up on the rear, and put the lever on your seat post/T tube.

or leave out the bars completely and mount the lever on my thumb

or, use 2 right hand levers, one above the other, and just pull both brakes at once. Plus it might look a bit neater with levers on just one side

That's just stupid. Get a tandem stoker bar mount, and put them behind the seat - problem solved.

The mounting points are completely different - some manufacturers use identical calliper bodies with different adapters, but you can't use a front brake on the rear without at least changing the adapter. You can buy levers and callipers separately, which would allow you to have the right/rear set up, and some shops sell kits set up this way as an option. Also, current Hope master cylinders are double sided, so you can just flip them over.

Loadsa barbers are more than just a barber to alot of their frequents, gaining more of a social club vibe, somewhere to hang out really.

Both my Marin (Hopes) and My Dale (Maguras) are identical mountings wise. I.e. if you run the same disc size front and rear, you can swap the calipers over bolt on/bolt off.
