  • Sub£10 present for a 9yo girly girl with a short attention span?

From memory likes singing and dancing.

Any ideas would be appreciated. No nail varnish.

Fabric pens (make sure you include pink) and a cheap white T-shirt/cotton shoulder bag.

  • I read somewhere that it was, I assumed that Italian was the only option as the threads go in the wrong direction on English

But the thread pitches are different between French and Italian, so even if you cheat you can't make an Italian thread from the metal left over after cutting a French thread.

External BB cups are pretty simple, so it wouldn't be hard to get a machinist to knock up a set for any of the different bearing sizes with French threading if you really want to.keep the frame but modernise the components.

  • Argh, the Rapha winter hat is out of stock online. Fuck it. Christmas is cancelled. I give up.

    Hatten the F*** up.

Okay, christmas is back on. I like this hat.

    OK. :)

I have a question about hats! (no, not me...)

What would be people's recommendations for a thermal hat that covers your ears that will fit under a cycling helmet? I have a merino endura one and it covers my ears, but I have a small head and small ears, and this is for someone with reasonable size head/ears.

  • hats the endura fits that bill for me. head circumference only 57cm I think but it's well stretchy (hat not head)

  • questions about model paints - are Humbrol enamels the only real option? is there anything water-based but more robust than normal art painting acrylics? I am painting cwissmasssy objects but I'd like them to be able to be handled without the decoration scratching/rubbing off so easily. painting onto pressed metal shapes, pre-painted with some sort of spray paint.

also where to buy? I only know 4D modelshop.

  • Any good model shop should carry Tamiya acrylic range, although on metal substrates I''d probably still go with Humbrol.

  • thanks. not painting directly onto the metal, they're plain spray painted shapes I'm jazzing up bit.
know any "good model shops" (in london) other than 4D?

  • No, you'll have to do your own googling for that.

  • I think I saw an ad for iPad mini's for £219 at Tesco in the Metro.
    Can anyone confirm or deny?

  • Cheers buddy!

  • Xmas tree decorations.

As long as the edges aren't sharp and you clean it, who wouldn't want one?

  • what is a reasonable price to pay for a 15-20 foot christmas tree (if buying in london)

I have absolutely no idea how much christmas trees of any size usually cost and I don't want to get ripped off if I do buy one this week

  • 20 foot!?

  • well it must definitely be closer to 15 but I'm shit at judging distance and I've been drinking, anyway I know I haven't seen a christmas tree taller than my ceiling for sale so whatever (I live a studio so two tall floors worth of height basically)

  • £300?

  • well it must definitely be closer to 15 but I'm shit at judging distance and I've been drinking

Oh, this is ripe with potential incident.

I can't help, though, soz. I think Homebase do the cheapest ones, but they only really go up to about 8 feet. If you want one that's actually 15ft then you'll need a fucking big corner to put it in. This is how much space it will take up: http://media.pennlive.com/life/photo/barbara-leitzel-3adf057e459702d4.jpg

  • Also here is a bonus video of a 15 foot christmas tree going into a rampaging bloodlust and attacking a guy outside a pub:

Just stick some fairy lights on Apollo, job done.

    definitely have the space, but...

probably am not responsible enough to safely erect a giant tree...

    £300?

    !!!

might just draw one on my wall in crayon

  • You looking at standard or needlelast? Regular pine tree is less than half the price of the needleless ones...
