Higgs just said that if it is not a Concept2 then it's not a rowing machine- it's a waste of time.
So- based on that, to eBay with you!

isn't Higgs your cat?
-
• #5255
Yes. She's very voluble on the subject of rowing machines.

fair enough, I always ask rudy for advice on bicycles.

It annoys me that everyone on the WaterRower website smiles like a loon.

Do you guys think a pasty themed cycling cafe would take off in London?

Dudes...
So, I've broken the allen bolt that secures the clamp on my cinelli quill stem. Its making bad noises.
I need to buy another one. Do I just go into a shop and ask for one? Are they universal? I've googled and come up with donuts.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Also...
Roseanne Arnold or Rosie O'Donnell?
-
• #5262
I prefer Oprah
-
• #5263
She is no longer an option.
-
• #5264
Cant be universal because some are much longer than others.
-
• #5265
Not the expander bolt, the one on the the clamp.
Same logic applies, I guess.
-
• #5266
Ohhhhhhh
-
• #5267
Ok... looks like its called a "binder bolt". 6mm allen head, but dont know about length and stuff.
-
• #5268
girth?
-
• #5269
enough.

Clerkenwell screws can probably solve your problems Balkster
-
• #5271
Length will be needed as well as threaded length.

So, I've broken the allen bolt that secures the clamp on my cinelli quill stem.
Which stem is it? The Cinelli 1A etc. bolt is nothing like anything you'll find in a hardware store. Spare parts are hard to find, you may end up buying a whole new stem.

Is the only reason to have forks crowns like this:
http://cxmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/igleheart_fork_crown.jpg
because they give more clearance than these:

and these:

...or are they a stronger design, and if so why?
Cheers.
