So, I sold a bike on eBay. Collection only. Was bought, and paid for over Paypal, by some fella in Yorkshire who said he would be coming to London mid-Septemeber to pick it up.
I've since had no contact despite messaging through eBay twice now. The aim of selling the bike was to free up apartment space. And I've spent his money. What to do?

- Never accept Paypal for collections - Cash only.
- Depends on the timescales involved.

I'm going to rebond my alu steerer to my crabon fork, I have some of this at home, will it do the job or shall I pop out and get some different epoxy stuff?
Presumably you've seen this: https://www.lfgss.com/thread100699-15.html post 715 onwards.
Unless there are significant gaps to fill I wouldn't use a 'putty' style adhesive - the high filler loading often interferes with bond strength whereas a lower viscosity epoxy will more effectively 'wet' the bonded surfaces. If you have plenty of time, use a type that require days to cure - pre heat adhesive and catalyst (water bath around 40 deg.C) to reduce viscosity which will both ease mixing and wetting out, but try it on scrap first to establish working time at the higher temperature.
Araldite 420 might be worth looking at?
(waits for someone who knows more to comment...)

Nice, I'll go grab some of that then. I've not ridden the bike in months so I'm sure I can wait a bit longer.

I mistakenly bought swiss stop race pro (instead of flash pro) would they work in ultegra 6700 calipers?
in swiss stop terms race pro = campag, flash pro = shimano.

Alaldite seems to be a little hard to find in small/cheap amounts, I'll find something a bit less viscous than the putty though.

This will hopefully do the job.
I have found that the bond strength of the "rapid" set epoxy resins is not as good as the slower (24hour) types.

I've ordered it now, it ain't one of the two minute jobs and I think my brake was holding the fork together for a good month or so before I checked it and found it to be broken, I'll be careful testing it once it's done.

- and check the mixing proportions, which are different by weight than by volume. Incorrect proportions will bugger (technical term) most of the claimed properties of an epoxy...

Speed play Zero pedals - what wears first, pedal body or cleat?
My right hand pedal now has some movement fore/aft during the pedal stroke- you can feel a sort of click as the cleat moves on the pedal.
Should I replace the cleat, the pedal body, or both?
Anyone?

Take an educated guess after an inspection.

Meh.

Bin 'em and buy a new bike then.

I've got a spare pair.
I guess I'll get the verniers out and try to work out which part of the system has worn.

It's in a syringe jobby so I'll trust my face to that.

Send plenty of messages through ebay/paypal system to explain about pickup deadline. Wait for end of September, then dispose of bike.
Good point, I'm tempted just to try, what's the worse that could happen?
