Ive heard bad things about the pc1 chains.
The 610 is the 3/32 version of the 510. So if youre running a 3/32 chainring and cog I would go for that.

Nah running 1/8th ... CRC don't seem to have an abundance of suitable chains...

save your voucher and order from somewhere else. KMC B1 chain is dirt cheap from wiggle and they have bushings. Win

Is the B1 brklz skidder approved?
What about the KMC 710 (not the lightweight one)?
-
• #46681
I've been running a 710 for a while, definitely nicer than the 510, bit more chunky.
-

I've been riding the B1 for 3 months or so now aggressively and its been fine. Although I'm not brakeless.

710 is good too, I ran that before but it wore out a bit too quickly for my liking so decided to go for a bushinged chain.

what is the purpose of a plumb line in bike fitting?
-
• #46685
Pedal spindle directly under the front of the kneecap. It's an old way though.

I tried ordering 2 different length 510hx so ended up with 2 voucher codes.
I'm calling a 710 for £2.99 a win....
Thanks for the suggestion hovis am just wary of something cheaper for hilly yorkshire riding, yes I know I should grow up and fit a brake...

checking for KOPS in an overly sensitive fashion?

so how do i check that if not plumb line?
-
• #46690
KOPS isn't a perfect way of checking out the fit, that's what I meant by old way.
-

No, 1.2 million kilograms, i.e. 1200 tonnes.
Oops, slipped a decimal. That's a slightly more imaginable load. Mooring oil rigs is a good point, that hadn't occurred to me; I was thinking it might just be a legacy thing, to work with hardware at ports that was designed for 5" polypropylene etc.

What do you reckon I'd perform best on at the track, a pre cursa with 88mm carbon rims and good clincher tyres or a seta with heavy aluminium wheels?
An uneducated guess is that, I reckon its better to have lighter/more aero wheels even if the frame is heavier (and perhaps stiffer).

Depends over what distance? A lighter set up will accelerate better but a more aero whooosh one will go faster longer?

Indra has not given much detail of what "heavy aluminium" wheels he is considering. Maybe they have loads of spokes, maybe they dont.
I did say it was an uneducated guess, and I am assuming the carbon wheelset will be lighter and more aero.

I reckon Ellipses would be faster than 88mm carbon.

500g lighter than my current set.

28/24 but 2.6kg

It's not just a matter of speed.

Just go for the carbon wheels, it's what you wanted us to say.

Is buying 170mm cranks a bad idea if most of the riding I'll be doing will be at Herne Hill but I harbour the intention of one day riding an indoor velodrome?

500g lighter than my current set.
What about compared to Ellypses?
Ordered KMC z510hx off CRC but they no haz stock, so they gave me a £5 discount voucher.
What chain should I buy from them instead for brklz fixie skidz?
SRAM PC1 nickel coated is reduced to £8.99 already, so just £3.99 with my discount. They alright?
Otherwise they have a KMX z610 hx for 9.99? what's deifference between that and the 510?
