What are you trying to track Hippy? A tracker suitable for a rabbit would be different to one suitable for a Ford Focus, etc.

Has anyone used or know where I can find a real time gps tracker?
Basically the same shit you'd do with your phone and GOogle Latitude but made smaller and with a battery that will last a long time. Any ideas?
Maybe??
Live GPS Tracker - Worldwide GPS Coverage: Amazon.co.uk: ElectronicsA spot tracker should do the job, have a search on here, there'll be lots of information about them.

Rabbit's don't usually carry phones or use latitude do they? I'm trying to track me during races.
Found one that has place for a SIM card. So unlike the Ninja one above it doesn't need to have credits purchased for it..

Garmin 810, does remote tracking out of the box to Garmin Connect.

... via a mobile phone isn't it? It just pairs with a bluetooth device, there's no actual on-board transmitter stuff.

Yep, is that a deal breaker? You could get a cheap mobile just to relay the signal rather than a complete tracker.

not enough space:

Why not remove the rack from the bike, then you'll have all round access to the bolts

Mobile batts don't last long enough. >24hrs
Maybe a non smart phone with data? I wonder if my Sony would work? I think it only just lasted 24hrs with minimal use so turn on bluetooth and 3G and it's probably toast as well.

Smartphone batteries don't, but I used to get nearly a week out of my Bluetooth equipped Nokia 2730. What do you need to run on the phone for the Garmin to use it as a modem?

Bluetooth I guess to talk to the Garmin and then 2G or 3G (maybe GPRS?) for data?
I have a Sony that might fit the bill but I'd probably have to get a new battery for it and then it's still relying on a cell signal which was non-existent during the ESCA 24.
Spot tracker works without mobile signal but is a subscription service.

Is Spot tracker using the emergency services network then?
-
• #46140
Anyway, might be worth testing the 810 with your Sony before you spend any cash on new stuff.
-
• #46141
The 810 would be new stuff.
Spot tracker is out. It only updates every 10-20 minutes which is no good. Ninja would do 10s updates but cell network only and subscription needed.

• #46142
Ah, sorry- thought you had one.
Be interesting to see what the Garmin service reports- whether it sends all the metrics that the 810 is gathering, or just speed and location.

how can i hold a carriage bolt like this to get the nut out? It's in a trick place where there is almost no leverage to 'hold on' to the bolt apart from pressing it down with thumb but it isn't enough.
Standard reply
Slot, as suggested above, or grind the head right off.

@ around 9:40 this morning I rode past an accident on clapham common southside.
Does anyone know if this was cyclist- related?
I haven't been able to find enough information online to post a Rider Down thread. -

Edge 510 and 810 offer a suite of connected features when paired with your smartphone (Apple® or Android™) and the Garmin Connect™ Mobile app.
Looks like phone options are limited by the need to run the Garmin App.

A fashion photographer of mine has been getting really annoyed with his models re-photoshping his work and showcase their bad photoshopped results... he usually sends them a bunch of fair quality jpegs so they could have for their portfolios, nothing poster size but good enough for the models to mess with the files. So we want to know if there is a way to lock the jpeg files? We have tried saving them as PDFs and lock it that way but Photoshop can just override it. Simply locking the actual files to read only isn't good enough as it takes a 5 years old to work out how to untick the box. Any suggestion?

That sucks. So the whole system is limited by the smartphone.

You can always screen shot anything anyway so, no. Watermark across the image is about it and even they can be removed.
