  • Cheers. But I really need the one without laughs. The one where it's just a bunch of Scotch getting more and more irate over their national hero being called a gay and a nonce.

The one where the fat guy in the front finally breaks and shouts "its Scottish, not Scotch!".

Anyway, next question, are Die Antwoord for real? I assumed they were but looking at some random interviews, I wonder...

  • Have a look for 'Max Normal'.

They're serious about the stuff they do. Not sure if that's just serious about having a big laugh though. All of their work is good, just not to everyone's tastes. There's a lot of slagging off Saffa politics in their songs.

  • I've saved up a few questions, not all about the same bike.

    • What size do you think my pannier mounting lugs will take. Not M5 methinks, as this is an old 1950s british frame and they would not have had metric then. Would they?

    • Derailleur adjusting 1 - is it possible to get a 2 x 8 to work through all the rear cogs without having to trim the front? I mean, should I be able to stay on the big chainring, and work through cogs 1 to 8 without trimming at all? I just wonder if I can achieve this, so should do more adjusting, or if I have it as good as.

    • Derailleur adjusting 2 - again, wondering how long to spend on this. Should I be able to rotate pedals backwards without the chain snagging in every front/rear chainring/cog combination. At the moment, it does snag, a little, when I am largest front, largest rear, i.e. cross chaining. Will I ever be able to get it so it doesn't?

    • I have a flip/flop rear (different bike) and am going to fit freewheel on both sides. I know it is fine to put freewheel on track cogs - if there were not enough thread, then you fixie riders would tear them off all the time. But nonetheless, I want to put the freewheel which is transmitting the most torque onto the most thread... and the least the least. My thinking is that would be the largest freewheel (most teeth, 21), transmitting the most torque on the freewheel side, and the smallest freewheel, (16t) on the track side. Am I wrong?

  • What's a good alternative to ipod shuffle?

Needs normal Windows file system and the idea is to attach this to handlebars on a bike. Cheap (in case it falls off or rains) is good but not shit.

Clerkenwell Screw is your answer, if you can't find it, get it tapped to M6.

You can, worse case scenario is that you may need to change the bottom bracket width to make it work better (it did with my 2x8)

    Exactly, put it on.

  • is there any way of carrying a 700c wheel with a chrome mini metro and some bungee cords? I am talking 7 or so miles

  • Yes, just strap it on, it's not diffcuilt.

  • just loop the bungees around the bag and the spokes. should be piss easy,

  • just dont forget it's there and try to do silly filtering...

Clerkenwell Screw is around the corner from my office, but I hoped not to have to go down and try every bolt of about the right size. Although they are very helpful.

re the BB, I assume you mean to move the front chainrings into a better line with the rear cassette - middle to middle as it were.

    Cheers.

  • use the flap straps too

i managed to get a wheel home just using the wheelstraps and the sternum strap wrapped around the wheel instead of me

If you get it sorted i've got some great Jason Donovan B-Sides I can send you!

  • Thanks Mick but as an Aussie I already have the full JD and Kylie catalog. They don't let us leave without it.

  • "Do the Locomotion" would be a great motivational track for the final stages of a 24 I think... yeah..

  • why not just have it on repeat for the whole race?

  • What's the best way to remove decals/logos from my saddle*... No doubt acetone and fire will do the trick, but ideally I would like to preserve the saddle itself in the process?

What and miss her other glorious ballads?

  • Sansa Clip - £25

    Looks ok. I don't suppose there's a version without a screen?

Every bolt? only need to try out a couple and see if it fit.

re the BB, I assume you mean to move the front chainrings into a better line with the rear cassette - middle to middle as it were.

Exactly, by putting a shorter bottom bracket on, have a look at the chainring/crank arm clearance on your bike to see if you can bring it 2 or 3mm closer than usual if you can't get the derailleur to stop rubbing at the highest/lowest cog.

Don't necessary need to be middle to middle thought.

  • Sansa Clip+ looks better. More storage, more formats and it's not that big. Ta aggi!

  • Can someone help me figure out if i'm on the right tracks here.

Im looking at getting a custom TF dart, as both a road fixed and potentially a travel/cross uses, now try to do 2 bikes with one is possibly silly so kick me out if this is all very stupid

The dart by standard has steep angles 75 st and 74 ht, with a road fork ~365mm axle-crown, cross forks have ~395mm axle-crown, after some googling a 30mm increase in axle-crown would push my angles to 73.5 and 72.5 or thereabouts, which would result in a more offroad/travel geo?

So by swapping forks (and probably some stem/bar adjustment) both would work?

    Or is that stupid?

  • edscoble / anyone want to send me a picture of how tight/loose forward / backward my cage should look when my chain is the right length? Running double 8 speed.

  • Or is that stupid?

    Or get the Dream Machine.
