  • Is it possible to disassemble the cam end of a campagnolo c-record skewer?

  • Anyone know a decent calendar printer/manufacturer? Vistaprint and photobox are pretty budget quality.

I could probably get you some quotes...

  • too hard for the road? i've used mine for touring round france and didnt have any problems.

I haven't really given it a proper go, just a quick spin round the block when I finished the build yesterday. Might be the 130psi tyres though..
I'm just used to my lovely smooth SLX, I guess.

  • I want a nice fitting, thin, black, fleecey hoody with pockets on the back like a jersey... Is there such a thing and can I afford it?

not black, but just saw this

Wow, I thought I was mad having 120psi front and back. I hear that 110 back and 105 front is adequate.

  • Get the frameset, you won't get a better fork headset and seatpost new for £100

Frameset mean you got the headset, seat post and seat clamp altogether (beside the fork), for £100 more I think it's a pretty good deal.

I've just done the same thing. Take into consideration that the frames use a proprietary headset, which I didn't realise until after the frame had arrived. That was another £15 on top. I also bought some carbon forks seperately, which although cheap brought it up to around the same £199 price.
If you think the forks from Dolan are worth £199 - £15 for headset - £15 for seatpost then I'd say go for the frameset. I know I would if I was to buy again, and just sell the included Dolan/Alpina forks.

I'm considering selling my 58 pre cursa as it won't be on a track until next year (missed all the basic sessions this year) and I've got a feeling it's too hard for roads around me. I've ridden it round the block once, will give it a proper go this weekend.

    That's that then. Cheers peeps!

New tyres, they say 130, I'll give 'em 130!
I might have to take some out though, yeah. Cheers for that.

Then you, sir, are an idiot. Unless you weigh 240lb, in which case you are a fat idiot because you should have bought bigger tyres which would work with your weight at a sensible pressure.

  • ^must spread rep.

I find 120psi on 23mm tyres gives a nice comfy ride. Not all spongey like dropping to 80psi gives. But then again, I do weigh 240lbs.

Porky and proud, with plenty of psi...

  • I find 120psi on 23mm tyres gives a nice comfy ride. But then again, I do weigh 240lbs.

By my calculation, your combination of section/weight/pressure should give about the same ride as I get at 25c/200lb/90psi, so I'd expect it to work pretty well.

    Ooof! Harsh!

I think the 130psi written on your tyre indicates the very maximum they can be inflated, not the recommended pressure.

  • Don't listen to them! Go for the burn!

  • Don't listen to them! Go for the burn on your hand and arse!

    fixed.

  • I listened to tester's advice on tyre pressure during the tyre pressure thread months and months ago and while the thread was very dorky and I was slightly embarrassed to be involved in something so dorky (no mean feat when I'm already a dorky programmer type), tester did in fact turn out to be completely correct and the "pump to the max!!!!" advice championed by Balki was wrong.

Although in retrospect that does seem obvious.

  • Nah, go for 131psi! Live on the edge!

  • Total maverick!

  • Right, that's it, 180 psi it is.

  • 181! You could become a legend!

    My work here is done...

What about the max psi on the *rims?

    • does it concur?

Ha ha. Chill the fuck out, I was being flippant.
