It's the end caps that hold it in place I think.
The end cap currently falls off- there is no holding force there whatsover.
If you lean the wheel to the side, the end cap falls on the floor.

Hi there fellow cyclers. Car question: If you had a diesel Ford Focus with 137,000 on the clock which required a new clutch would you go ahead with the repair or is it time to let the old girl go? If it's time to put her down what can I expect for scrap?
-
• #36230
I'd replace the clutch, get a few prices from the fast fit ford places or a clutch centre.
Also depends where you are can be doable in a day if you have the space or a quiet road.

You mean DIY it? I honestly wouldn't know where to start.

Quick gogole shows videos on you tube about how to do the change.
Looking on a guide it say 6 hours chargeable but no idea more than that. Need to confirm its a dual mass flywheel as that could mean that the whole thing needs changing as well as the slave cylinder.

Maybe this has been asked before, but which is more efficient/cost effective, having your central heating turn itself on twice a day, morning and evening, or having it on all day long?
Had some friends that tried having the heating running on low all day for a few months as they thought that it would be cheaper. Three months later cue a massive bill that they had trouble paying because they had used so much.

137K diesel Ford? She's just about run in. Should be around £300 including the reconditioned clutch kit I reckon mind you mine was a Ka so I've added a ton on top.

Interesting.
Out here most furnaces will cycle on and off to keep a constant temperature, whichever has been set. Like many, we turn ours down at night to not only save fuel, but for more sleeping comfort. Programmable thermostats are the norm, though we prefer manual setting because our schedule is quite changeable. Generally furnace fans will run constantly to maintain air flow and help to keep the temperature even from floor to ceiling. -

This has all gone a bit groundhog day.
What holds the freehub body on, with a Hope Pro II Evo hub?
i.e. do I have to hit the little fucker with the mallet to seat it in, is there a snap-ring that has vanished?
The answer is: the plastic seal on the base of the freehub fits into a groove in the hub body.

Personally recon clutch kits are suspect from personal experience and luk kits aren't that expensive.
If its a dual mass flywheel that could be an issue cost wise.

furnace fans.
This is Britain. we have boilers and radiators and inadequate insulation.
I really wish I had proper filtered air HVAC.
Average dual fuel bill is set to become £1300 per annum average.
Anyone who regularly leaves the house with the boiler on is in for a shock. -

is it possible to make windows 7 recognize a particular mouse and assign different settings to it automatically? I like the pointer quite fast when I'm using the touchpad on my laptop, but if I plug in a mouse for using solidworks or potatoshop, I set it very slow and use an A3 mouse pad; it's a drag having to change the speed every time.

I'm about to drop £$€ on a new road frame and forks... 90s vintage, 126mm spacing... I've got an Athena 11sp gruppo waiting to go on it, am I likely to have any issues with an Athena/Chorus 12-27 cassette on a 126 frame?
-
• #36243
130 mm spacing?
that's only 2mm either side.(check out the current projects chat thread, there's a mercxx with 10spd chorus, previous incarnation had 7 speed shimano)
-
• #36244
I know it's only 2mm, Em suggested I might have an issue... I'll take a look... Ta! x

If you just jam it in without properly cold setting and then realigning the derailleur hanger, the derailleur will be skewed. This might adversely affect shifting precision, which is probably something you want to avoid with 11s

It's a pretty sweet frame, and it isn't gonna be cheap, I don't wanna fuck around with it too much if possible... I will consult the resident roadie douchebag at my LBS before purchasing, he'll know...

What's the cheapest bike on sale in the UK that has Ultegra Di2?
-
• #36249
I am in New York right now and in the surrounding areas. Any bike shops I should check out that you forumers would recommend?
-
• #36250
Jamis Xenith Pro was recently "the cheapest carbon bike with Di2" for road.cc
There must be cheaper alu ones... Canyon?
What's the cost of a new set of forks for my bob jackson vigorelli? Made by them, not any old fork.
