  • I was quoting someone saying "let's go fucking mental" so goosing wouldn't really cut it. *

*Not at a Milwall supporter's wedding.

    *No longer in the speech.

*I think I may have written a really boring speech...

... New question. Is it ever acceptable to just get outrageously pissed and wing it?

Might work, but could be an event which will make you cringe every timw you remember it.

Try replacing the word 'fucking' with 'effing' or 'fecking'

  • Is there actually a cutoff point after which you can no longer top up oyster cards at corner shops/etc?
I've been told several times by shops it's too late to top up but I can't find anything definitive on the TFL site or with google.

  • i need to take a couple of weeks holiday in August

    what should I do?

am shit at self motivation, would like to spend one week riding bikes but probably need some other people to do this with. anyone know of any events or cheap holidays where i could go cycling quite happy to do this in the UK

am thinking of staying with a friend in Berlin for the other week, he is a musician/DJ so hoping to go dancing and chill for a week, what are the chances of me being able to hire a half decent road or mountain bike over there and do a couple of longish rides?

  • They did, anytime now they're gonna do an emergency evacuation

I'm not sure I have guts any more. I'm hungry but the thought of food makes me really queasy.

Moral of the story - if it's fizzy but not carbonated, don't eat it. I also ate mouldy bread, I'm guessing that didn't help so my advice would be to leave that alone too...

  • Anyone else ever look at a clock and the time seems to hang on the same second for a good 3 or 4 seconds before continuing normally?

I get it all the time. Pun not intended.

    Raised by wolves were you?

I'd like a week in Napoli followed by a week on Lago di Como.

All working day long, man. All working day long.

    Ride to Berlin?

  • Why do the american's call the 4th July "the forth of July"?

They usually say their dates the other way around - ie "July forth".

    ?

    +1 for "Fecking".
I wouldn't advise the latter approach. Saw it happen once. For the first couple of minutes my wife and I weren't sure if the best man really was crashing and burning, or if it was a sub-par performance in the vein of those really cringey sitcoms that I can't stand like Curb Your Enthusiasm or The Office.

  • What happened to the Fixie Bomb Crew?

  • They bombed.

  • So, this press release from Wandsworth Council says that

A new pedestrian and cycle bridge across the Thames is planned to create another link to Westminster.

Does anyone know anything about this? Where it's going to be put? What effect will it have on the Bridges Ride?

I think that we should be told.

  • Thanks for this, I've sent the chap the chart and asked him if it's a 54 (your size) or a 56 (my size).

No worries - any word back from him on size?

  • A random one, I'm looking for small drinks bladders. 300ml to 500ml or so, rather like a Capri Sun I guess (that's the back-up plan).

Can only find 2l plus. Anyone any suggestions? Cheers

We have 500mlish refillable flat water bottles as freebies at work. If you're in London, pop by Angel and you can have one for nowt.

    Filled:

  • Golgol- he thinks it is a 56

  • Platypus make squishy bottles. So do Nalgene. MSR Dromedary bags are sweet but probably over-engineered for what you're after.

    Yes!!!!!

I always thought it was only me. Never understood it. Its like an extended pause.... .... before it continues ticking. Or is suddenly realises that youre looking at it so it jumps into action.

They usually say their dates the other way around - ie "July forth".

    ?

I think it's usually "fourth", unless I missed the joke.
The ordering of the words adds gravitas; otherwise, it becomes just another day, which would be hard to take for some.

  • Literally moved into London this week, Notting Hill. Where can I buy some freshly roasted coffee beans?
