I see. I feared God was testing me.

Sorry, what? No. They're not.
If you deliberately misquote me, it's bound to look wrong. What I actually said was
Unless you ask specially, all metric bolts are coarse pitch
i.e. if you go into any ordinary fastener shop and ask for an Mxx fastener, what they will hand you will be the ISO Metric Coarse Pitch version.
By the way, standard coarse pitch on M6 is 1mm, not 1.25mm

Oh sorry.

Don't make a habbit of this. We frown on usefulness.
It wasn't intentional.

Tester, will a M8 carriage bolt also be the same coarse thread of a crankbolt?
There are no proper fastener shops nearby, but plenty of hardware/poundshops which sell carriage bolts in every size.

Almost certainly, there's no reason for them to be anything else.

Almost certainly
too slow

Rear derailleur question.
I think my rear hanger is slightly fatter than usual, the limiting screw for the highest gear (smallest cog) cant go far enough to align the jockey wheel. Its maybe 3mm off. My two trains of thought are currently
a) Who Cares. the cable tension should stop the chain overshifting anyway.
b) Try and source a slightly longer limiting screw.Any thoughts?

This is a great thread idea

To the left.

a) get it checked with an alignment tool (it sounds bent to me)
b) use a longer screw (m3 I think, same as in most electrical fittings, nick one out of the cover of a 3 pin wall socket!) and see if the mech then works across the range.
c) don't rely on cable tension -

Kick the derailleur while riding, can't fail.

I think you'll find they are M3.5, so* they won't fit a dérailleur
*so meaning "such that", rather than "in order that"; MK didn't choose their screw size specifically to discourage theft by cyclists.

Seriously this does sound like it could be quite amusing, make it happen!
