could i use this with a road bike 50/39/30 crankset? 7 speed rear freewheel
I'm doubting it...
I reckon you'll be fine. Aren't front mech's pretty simple things? Wouldn't it be the shifter's that determine it (if they're sti/similar)
One thing I would say is that that's an aweful lot to spend on a front mech.

Beware of the taxi drivers, it says on the side of the cars how much the fare should be per KM, but they'll take you for whatever they can.
Otherwise, beautiful country, stoney beaches and good food.
If you've got any downtime in Zadar, it's worth visiting the Garden Bar for a beer. Also, just on the quay side by the bar there are boats offering trips to the national parks, we didn't have time for one but they look a great way to spend a day.

](http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/shimano-deore-xt-fd-m735-7-8-speed-triple-non-compact-front-derailleur-286-mm-prod342/)It will work but not very well, it will be tough to set up, and will always rub somewhere. It is designed for a closer ratio, smaller outer ring (like 44 34 24)
Ideally you would want the road triple to suit the ratios. And it depends a bit on the shifters, as the indexing on road shifters won;t work without the right mech. -
• #27531
I'll definitely leave it then,
my missus' bike has downtube shifters so setting up a front derailleur once i've found the right size shouldn't be too hard (right?haha) -

Do recessed brake nuts come in different diameters? The two that I have are both too wide to fit into my forks.
-
• #27533
has it been repainted? they can be tight fit.
-
• #27534
Hmm.. didn't think of that. I'll give it a "shave" and see what happens.
-
• #27535
No way, no how is that nut fitting in that hole.

Drill your forks. 8mm HSS drill bit. Less than 30 seconds. Done.

Hi there guys!
Can I ask some things...
I own a KHS Flite 100 and I would like to change the wheels!
No logo or espresso wheels are any good?By the way dose anyone know the weight of the original Weimann SP 17 wheels on the Flite?
Because for example some wheels I found on ebay are about 3kg a pair! And something else! I am thinking of taking the bike away from London and probably I will need one or 2 extra gears for higher top speed and one for going a bit uphills :P
Cheers and thank you in advance for the answers!

Maybe I should rub some lubricant around the rim first?

This looks like the solution.

There is some variation in size, though I've never had an issue with standard forks, just with a set of old forks that were drilled for a nut. The ones that come standard with Shimano brakes tend to be slightly narrower.

@tonioionio how much do you want to spend?
Is it for the road or track?
Braking surface?
What about Mavic eclipse's?
If it was me, I would go for hand built - planet x track hubs with velocity A23 rims and ACI spokes for a budget build. Royce or Mach hubs on HED C2's with sapim spokes.
3kg sounds a bit OTT.

I dont really know the exact budget but I would say around 100-150?
The front wheel must have a braking surface but I dont really know if I will need the rear wheel CNC except I stop using the bike as a fixie! The rest you said seem like chinese to me man sorry !!:P
Because I dont really know much about wheels etc...Thats why I am looking for something that is a good and complete solution but not expensive :PCan I have more than one speed If i change the thing on the rear wheel on a Flite 100 ?:P
Thank you for the answer man!
P.s : Thats one of the pairs I saw on ebay.

What perceived problem with the current wheels do you aim to solve by changing them?
-
• #27544
I want to add some color to the bike. I know it sounds a bit stupid but I would like to add some color thats all :P
You think thats not a reason to change the wheels on a flite right ?:P -

@ tonionio
You'd be better off saving the £100 for another day. If you want colour now, just buy spray paint in the colour of your choice and carefully mask the hubs, spokes and nipples.
As tester alluded to, unless you have a problem or a need to change them you're not going to see any improvement over your current wheels for ~£100.
Just ride the ones you've got, until they fall apart.
Keep your eye on the classifieds here, and you'll pick up something that is good quality and fits the bill.
Also racism doesn't go down well here:
The rest you said seem like chinese to me man sorry !!:P

Sun CR-18? The Rhyno Lite would work too but is over 500 grams.
I am tentatively looking for a wide 700c rim and tyres to go on it. Ideally it would be cheap and not too heavy, with 32h (the user would not be very heavy).
- Velocity Dyad - 24mm - 480g - price ? (c.£40-50)
- MAVIC A319 - 25mm - 600g - £23.50 (for a 36h) or c.£32 (32h)
- Rigida Sputnik - 25mm - 690g - £18
- Rigida Grizzly - 22.7mm - 610g - £18 (36h only?)
Does anyone know of anything else that would be suitable? The dream would be a sub 500g, 32h, 25mm wide around the £25 mark?
Also does anyone have any good suggestions for 32c tyres, that are fast comfortable and puncture resistant? Bonti racelites would be my first choice, nothing as tractor-like as marathons.

Cheers for the suggestions.
I like the idea of the Ryno Lite and was looking into a set for myself. The weights not the end of the world, I was just trying to keep an eye on the overall weight.

Is my laptop battery fucked?
If you unplug it after it's been charging, and then plug it in again, it says 'plugged in, not charging' no matter how much battery life is apparently left. I've tried all the methods suggested by Googling the problem - uninstalling the ACPI battery monitor thing and letting it reinstall, changing to Eco power mode and back again, but so far the only thing that works is turning my computer off, taking the battery out and putting it back in again. So far (three times), it's worked every time, but it's a bit of a hassle.
Is it a software or hardware problem?
Awesome- noted, thanks!
