£10 Wahl trimmer from Argos. Job done :) It's saved me probably £100 in hair cuts so far.

I'd go for this one if I was handsomer - all over even shave.
But as I need hair to desperately hold onto my youthful looks I use a small rechargeable Wahl to trim my beard.

^that reminds me too much of the suck 'n' cut from waynes world for me to ever consider it as being a sensible hair cutting option.

Why so many yoofs on a nearby estate swapped their MTBs for brand new road bikes with drops and Shimano 105/Ultegra? Very curious. It's probably SKY Ride probably promoted cycling well, right?

The difference is noticable, I got mine from an airport duty free for about £50, and cutting hair/trimming beard is noticably better, one thing for sure it doesn't 'pluck' your hair every now and then when it didn't cut it properly.

It must be. I've never seen so many kids in on top of the drops.

I've not found this with my cheap trimmer. The only issue I've had is that, after a fair amount of use, it's started eating the plastic grade heads. Having looked around, I can buy a new one (only use the one) for £1.32 shipped for free from Wahl. So not big deal :)
I'm sure a more expensive one will cut better, I may consider one if this conks out on me. As it stands, it's saving me £12 every time I use it (and saving me from an awkward barbershop conversation/awkward silence).

As long as there aren't any pokey out bits (pedals etc) then yes.
Personally, i'd be more worried about the bike being damaged by them with only a cardboard box.

use plenty of bubble wrap, and partially deflate the tyres. Worked for me. Check your baggage allowance (and number of bags allowance) though.
i have one of these:

you can turn a dial and change the cut length or take the guard off completely. battery life is good and it seems to have stayed sharp. Its one of the cheapest ones they do so i'm guessing the more pricy ones will be better again
