It was a classic. The bass was three-dimensional, if you can believe that. I know it sounds fanciful.
Hitachi knew how to wow the punters, I mean the guy who came up with the idea of having a product with 3D, super and woofer in the title must have been hailed as the most winning-est product namer in history.

I think that's actually up to Jeremy Kyle to decide actually.

Not sure if this is the right thread but I know the Mend-a-bike shop on the New Kings Road seems to have closed but does anyone know if their workshop under the arches a bit away is still working?
They unsiezed my seatpost for me a while back (and to my shame it's siezed again - I had lubed it everytime I washed the bike since but with hols etc...) They did the heating up steel frame to get aluminium seatpost out thing and I need someone out West who can do the same.
Can anyone help?

It's been a couple of months since i've been there, but the bloke with the beard did carry on working in one of the railway arches after the shop closed.

Is there a thread on this forum specifically about securing components by putting glue/ball bearings in bolts etc?
No one got an answer for this? I was specifically looking into whether bolt gluing actually worked. And also if there was a company selling full replacement bolt sets in a kooky pattern.

Not sure where the thread is but if you search foor Tynan's paste (or was it his 'special paste'?) it might be there, however, I recall people talkign about glueing the ball bearings into the allen key hole to prevent people taking saddles etc . I recall them saying that you'd need to carry nail varnish remover for those times you want to get in there. That said I'm not sure which glues will dissolve with the nail varnish remover.
The suggestion was that it worked.

Does anyone know how to crochet? (or know anyone who does?)
Might be looking to commission something interesting.
(probably not the right place for this, but it is a question)

There are a couple of knitting and sewing threads on the forum. Realise it's a different thing but I reckon there's a chance they'll know some crocheters.

Today i was riding some country lanes slowly waiting for my mate to catch up (he had stopped) and a Road biker road up and said, "Is that a fixed wheel"

"You look like and idiot"
"Im calling the Police"

I'm trying to search for some info, and there's too many threads about specific headset questions, and not really one generally useful one.
I'm happy to start one off, but I'm not sure exatly what it should contain.
My thoughts are having it layed out a bit like below. My main questions are; (1) do you need both upper and lower cup stack height, or is the over all enough; (2) Are there different sizes within each of the sizes - ie ISO and J.I.S. and should these be reflected?
I thought it would be best to leave the other new sizes out, as well as 1 1/8" threaded for the moment.
Any other thoughts/suggestions?
1" Threaded
- name / stack height
Recommended:
Best value (cost + performance) - name
Best all round - name
Bling - name
1" Threadless..

1 1/8" Threadless...

Would you go out with/marry someone who is taller than you? For the guys really. Would you have a limit on the difference in height? Do you see tall women being attractive/sexy/unaprochable?

What is everyone's thinking behind foot retention and fixed riding? I would never ride without being clipped/strapped in but my housemate seems to think its ok. I think its bloody dangerous in case your feet slip off and you get whacked off or something like that.
