  • Cheers.

^^^ Indeed. Peds in that whole area are oblivious to traffic lights... and traffic for that matter.

  • Spend it wisely.

  • 8 gazillionths of a pound

  • 1 euro

  • zing!

  • 987,887,159,555,212,655,100,455,234,234,235,555,138,116,115 Zimbabwe dollars.

Price of 6 cans of Tyskie in Zimbaboland.

  • Refered to in a sensible way as a wheelbarrow o'dollah.

  • if you can't find any diamant decals (try here http://www.hlloydcycles.com/ and ebay) then get some high res photos of the ones you want replicating (they don't look too complex), and anyone semi-competent in illustrator will be able to make an eps of them which you'll be able to get produced. bear in mind if you use armourtex (or any other powder coaters) then the decals will be on top of the paint, whereas if you use a traditional enameller then they'll be able to clearcoat over the top of the decals.

    hope this helps.

You will also loose the chrome on the back if you powdercoat

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately hlloydcycles dont stock diamant ones so ill go down the eps route you suggested. I think my sister can do that sort of stuff so ill just have to find somewhere to get it printed. If i got it powercoated, could I stick on the decals and then get it laquered after or is that not advisable?

I was under the impression that they could mask off the chrome before powdercoat? If not then ill get it painted instead, chrome must stay!

Oh maybe they can, probably want to double check though, I was under the impression it was a kinda all or nothing thing!

  • just round it down to fuck all...

The existing paint is stripped by either dipping (alu frame) or by burning, so the chrome will be fucked. The powdercoating is nigh on impossible to limit to just the area you want, so I'd advise getting it resprayed properly, rather than powder coating.

  • What, realistically, would be the problem/s with replacing a 1" quill stem and fork set up on an old steel classic, with a 1" threadless + carbon fork setup?Would there be any benefits?

Problem 1: The scorn of the forum from the inevitable anti-porn post of your bike and the accusations of puppy-killing from the "porn-oratti" who think all nice bikes should look no newer than 1985.
Problem 2: 1" carbon forks are not so easy to find - most stuff is 1 1/8" now days but there are some older CX forks made for 1"

Problem 2 will be the hardest part I think.

  • 1'' carbon forks aren't hard to find, but nice looking ones are.

I have one inch threadless carbon on my bike, in fact it was the one you saw me on t'other day.

    Works perfectly.

  • interesting....

No problems and in all honesty I didn't notice any benefits in terms of handling/comfort. I did it with this:

  • Can shimano cleats be used with keo look pedals?

  • More interesting. Plans future spends.

  • Can shimano cleats be used with keo look pedals?

    NO.

  • Anyone know the difference in stack height between SPD-SL and Time ATAC ROCs?

  • Rat in mi garden. I called Lambeth.

    Who payz? Me? Landlord?

  • A douche bag is a piece of medical equipment for douching - a bag for holding the fluid used in douching. If you don't know what douching is, Google it.

So probably from medical suppliers I'd imagine.

    Douching is an american word.
