  • Hmmm Ive got 37s on now but they look enormous and slow.
I think I might go down to 32s, a little less comfort but a bit more speed.

What makes you think 32s are going to be faster than 37s?

  • See if you can find anything in the tags:

ah yes. thanks anonymous tea lovers.

  • Not as heavy, less air resistance, can be pumped to a higher pressure and they look faster. Quicker to accelerate as well and more nimble.

  • Absolute and utter nonsense. This sort of thing comes up every couple of years. People trying to find secrets in Plato are ten a penny. I've certainly read attempts to make him a Pythagorean before. Funnily enough, most of Plato's key views are rather in conflict with Pythagoreanism. :)

What this is is really someone trying to justify some of today's most prevalent views by reference to Plato. It's not particularly interesting. Plato's work is infinitely rich and the work of utter genius, but most of that can be worked out by good old-fashioned thinking (I kid you not) rather than computing symbolic patterns and the like.

Thanks oliver... Is it also the case that many other hidden codes and numerology like the stuff meant to be revealed in the bible by numbers refering to letters that spell out predictions is pure coincidence and is bollocks?

  • Anyone here have a rapidshare account who understands the new auto upgrade thing it keeps doing?
Am I paying extra for it? Their website is a labyrith

  • web page with all the classic parts by brands, years, groups...
    retrosomething????
    I can not find it

  • yep, tat is the one, thanks H

  • @neu:
It seems to have got cheaper for low volume users, my account had about a month to run and now has 5 months if I stick to the lowest usage package. The corollary does seem to be higher charges for medium and high volume users.

  • So... track nuts...

They have a nut, and then an integrated serrated washer thing that grips the outside of the track end.

On the inside of the track end, there is another one of those serrated washer things that grips the other side of the track end.

    What is this thing called?

    locknut.

But it automatically upgrades me to packages with higher quotas. Is it automatically charging me for that or is it using up the rapid points i've accumulated to give me more quota while I have some?

They have such shit customer relations.

  • I guess if you go over the quota for your package, it ups you to a package to match your usage, and uses up any "Rapids" in your account at the rate for the new package. You can, afaik, manually switch down at any time to a lower or even "zero" package if your usage permits it, but I'm guessing they haven't implemented automatic switch-down. Also afaik, there is no automatic rebilling on RS, you always had to manually make any payments up to now, and I doubt they've changed that except maybe as an option for the Business package.

  • thanks, appreciated

  • just looked in the settings tab of the premium zone, and you can also manually restrict your package range, so you just get cut off for a day if you go over the quota of the highest package you permit

  • Does anyone have a copy of Chuck Berry's 'Sweet Little Sixteen' that they could email me? (don't ask)

    I cannae download anything here.

  • I got the video where he pisses on a stripper.

    what's your email?

  • richard at bld... actually, fuck that - i'll pm you.

  • What? I was joking, you actually want the vid? I thought you meant the song?

    I haven't got the video!

  • ah. no, i don't want the vid. i thought you meant you had the song, too.

  • and i also revealed my plans to you in my pm.

    bollerx

  • Oh i can get you the song, you want an mp3 right?

  • yep

  • locknut.

Thank you. Where to obtain said item? Evans can't help.

  • Recommend me a good external HD. 220 - 360 GB ish, I would prefer 2.5" format but not overly bothered.

  • I have a Lacie Rugged which i take everywhere, never let me down, will take an accidental drop (or two) triple interface cost a few more quids, but worth it for me personally. I have had a hard drive bounce off a studio floor and lost everything, because it was a metal casing the shock went through the drives. Game Over. I keep Lacie External's at home that never leave the house. And back-up, and then back up again.
