the cassette on my road bike has started making a decidedly crunchy sound whenever i'm freewheeling (or running the pedals backwards when off the bike.), is there any chance of getting inside the freewheel and having a look or is it likely to be kaput?

is the jumble at lmnh on sat or sun this weekend?

I'm e-mailing my CV to a company regarding a job they have advertised. I have mentioned that I have previous experience in their particular industry in my e-mail but should I add more? Would it be too much to add something about working for their company being a great step forward for me in my chosen industry? Or should I just keep it short and sweet and hope my CV stands out enough?

Cover letter. A good cover letter (in this case an email) makes all the difference.

Thanks Aroogah, I so far have one paragraph mentioning my interest in their industry and previous experience. How much more/what else should I put? I don't want to go too far or sound overly arse-licky!

i start my new job tomorrow... to shave or not to shave? that is the question.

Shave. Always be slightly overdressed on Day 1, people expect it a little. If you show up massively under-dressed people will remember you for being a scruffy bastard with poor judgement. First impressions, innit?.
