I'll like to knock out a few small parts for testing, it's for bike polo, specifically attaching the mallet head to the shaft.
The material will be aluminium and dimensions will be quite small 3cm x 1cm x 2cm.
Who should I speak to?

A sketch of what you have in mind would help.

If you need it modelled in CAD let me know.

Where do you want the brake, on the drop or on the top.
Drop look at Hugo suggestion. Pair are between 10 and 16 at temple cycles which maybe able to collect from their brick lane store.
Brake wise a dual pivot is supposed to better than single side. As for which, I can't tell the difference between brands.
Firstly tho I'd look at cleaning the rim and decent pads really do help.

If you put a Dura Ace 9100 crankset in for the recall, what cranks do they replace them with? Does anyone know? Thanks
-
• #124657
FC-09, I believe. I got FC-08 with my 6800 replacement.
-
• #124658
Interesting, thanks.
So that’s a 9200 crankset with 11s rings. Can you put 12s rings on if you want or is it 11 only?

Culture war bollocks. A Dutch friend is objecting to an organisation we are part of adopting gender neutral language. He feels it is censoring his right to free speech. When challenged on this he cited that in Holland there is the father of a trans teenager who is now in jail for not using their child’s preferred pronouns. I have done a perfunctory google search but can find no evidence of this. Can any of our Dutch skidders shed light on this or is it utter bullshit? @JWestland et al can you help?
-
• #124660
Don't waste yours or other's time on it. Just ask him for the evidence and assume there is none until he presents it.
-
• #124661
I can try to factcheck for you, but I'm not sure people linking gender neutral pronouns to lack of freedom of speech are open to facts and I can't find anything in Dutch either...
Sounds similar to Jordan Peterson claiming someone in Canada went to jail for misgendering someone but that didn't actually happen so... 🤔

• #124662
They also eat cats, and will ban cows due to the environment too.
-
• #124663
This was what I assumed. I think I may ask them to prove their assertion but it’s more than likely utter bullshit.
-
• #124664
First find out if that's actually the law in the Netherlands. If not, no need to search for any specific cases.
-
• #124665
wait, gender neutral people eat cats ?! this also needs fact checking. NL is a cold wet mess rn

• #124666

Did they fucking bollocks.

Did they fucking bollocks.
It doesn't matter, they can choose their own pronouns with or without them.

I sometimes suspect some culture war types are worried about being ostracized for saying the wrong thing.
If it's that type of person, some gentle conversation might reassure them?

Well, the Daily Wire has a popup inviting you to subscribe, to join the "voice of sanity" in its fight against the "radical leftist agenda", so I'm not convinced it's an unbiased source.
But even taking its report at face value (because I can't be arsed looking for another source), the guy was jailed for contempt of court, for breaching the court order to not misgender his child, not directly for the misgendering.
The word 'after' in the URL is important (and the word 'daughter' clarifies the site's agenda) ...
ETA - there's a fairly coherent report from the New York Post, which I'd say puts him somewhere on the same scale as Enoch Burke.

When pressed he said it was actually the Canadian case, and he had heard about it from Jordan Peterson.
As I understand the case the father was jailed for breaching the court order and for discussing the medical issues of a child that he had lost custody rights over. So more disingenuous JP culture war bullshit.

So in simple terms, once again clickbait for the phobic.

It always cheers me up to read that that horrible prick is still banged up

Is there any value in an induction hob with the glass top broken? I dropped a bottle (of oil) on our hob and cracked the glass in one corner. It still worked (after a fashion) but in a fit of impatience I bought a new one.
I now have the old broken one and before I send it to the tip I thought actually maybe this can be saved? Obviously by someone more technically savvy than me.
It's an IKEA unit 70-ish cm wide, four zones, perhaps 5 years old.
Any advice?

Why is Threads full of people in NJ thinking “SUV size” drones are flying over?
...ish. I'd get properly silver Tektro calipers for aesthetics, and the mid-range ones work just as well as Shimano
