It's unusual in that the female part is attached with sideways webbing. But the male part, i.e. the part you want, is likely to be a standard design with a standard prong. Find other products with the same size plastic buckle, perhaps in a shop or under your bed, and test to see what fits. Then buy a standard buckle. (Lots on ebay, search for plastic buckle.) Or skip the testing and risk £3 on a buckle in the hope it will work.

Does anyone darn their socks? I've got some nice socks I have holes in I don't want to throw away. You can get kits online but I don't know what's a good one or anything?

There's only so far you can go wrong, you just need a mushroom and a darning needle. Get whatever is cheap and practice on a scrap sock, then start hunting down the perfect thread for your good socks.

I think it's this one, in the ITW Nexus catalogue https://global.itwnexus.com/content/jet-sr-t-locglide-sternum-buckle-non-removable
Here's the male part for sale in Canada https://www.hudson4supplies.com/itw-jet-sr-20-whistleloc-w-body-loop-set-black.html Did yours have a whistle?

Son has a an 18inch wheel bike. His front tire deflated the other day.
I assumed it was punctured due to the speed of deflation.
Removed the tube, checked the tyre and rim and can find no sign of anything that could cause a puncture. Put a new tube in and inflated. This morning the tube (different brand to the original one) also deflated within minutes of its first use. When I took out the old tube, I inflated it to pressure and it is still at pressure 2 days later. The new tube that deflated this morning also seems to have no puncture either? Its weird. What's happening?

I suspect the son with a twig when you weren't looking. Are you sure he wants to go cycling with you?

Magnets.

Strangely, yes he does. Albeit I'm walking as he's cycling, he's 5.

Can I waterproof a cotton/poly parka? It's German army surplus. It's unlined. Just one layer of cotton/poly fabric.

Does anyone know when Student Loan Company take direct debits for repayments?I recently received a letter that said my balance was low enough to be fully repaid before the end of the tax year and I can swap to Direct Debits to prevent overpaying via PAYE.
So I switched, and this is supposed to be the first month it come out, however it still has not gone from my account.Edit: logged in to my account and it says 25th monthly
Edit 2: this is changeable

Deep down, if you're being really honest with yourself and silencing your inner Rivendell festishist, do you actually think thumb shifters are better than trigger shifters?

What is the diagnosis if you can read a word, can say it and spell it but can’t physically write it
correctly?
Currently I struggle with faidh (it’s an Irish thing) I can spell it, pronounce it but if I try to write it down I just completely fuck it up, the d and h end up transposed or merged or just become some squiggle, the a or I end up missing. It’s every time unless I stop and try and slowly do one letter at a time.
Any internet diagnosis welcome, I’m not going to research it any further probably. -

Maybe you’ve been cursed by a prophet.

The poor deer.
-
• #124071
Both quite good :) but unfortunately faidh is the ending for some verbs in the future tense (I.e tiocfaidh ár lá would be a well known version) It would be handy if it was fáidh as the only prophet in my life is an old canondale mountain bike I don’t really talk about anymore.

If they're friction instead of indexed, then basically yes for a lot of riding

The general term for issues with movement is dyspraxia.
Have you always had this problem? Is it with specific words or letters or shapes?
-
• #124074
Yes always - when I was a small child there was talk of reading issues and I went to speech therapists but I’ve no real idea why - I think to get rid of a very thick Irish accent.
Letters probably d, h, b a
My handwriting is so bad I try to avoid writing tbh . -

Anyone ever angle grindered off a U-Lock in a public place? My station bike is locked to the racks at the station and the lock seems to be completely stuck. I've been pumping it with GT85 all week and robustly jiggling the key all week, the key does a quarter turn then will absolutely not budge. I tried popping it off with a car jack yesterday but lost my nerve when I thought I was going to break the jack or the frame. Next plan is hire a cordless angle grinder, notify the cops and then just have at it. Any flaws in my plan?
Probably itw-nexus or duraflex
