  • Meths.

You are using white vinegar /non brewed condiment.

Have been using citric acid/lemon salt to clean the shower/bath and it is great removing limescale marks.

  • Did the same, I rinsed the bike off. As the water and dirt make a great grinding paste. Be more worried at grease wash out than rust in the frame.

If you have a steel frame and worried about rust think about putting something in the frame like frame saver or a bilt hamber product.

  • Thanks @lynx & @spinnnout
I was also worrying about my hubs. They’re sealed cartridge bearing so hopefully they’ll be fine.

  • Not sure if srs

  • Non- wanky/natural glass cleaner, I’m afraid. The stuff full of chemicals works best!

  • As said, plain old supermarket spray window cleaner works best. It has a little bit of vinegar in it, but only to acidify the cleaner I think. This whole fad of cleaning everything with white vinegar does little other than make the house stink of fish and chips.

Don't use too much, like one spray per window. Wipe the window down until it's dry, turn the cloth over and use the dry side to wipe the smears off. If the windows are really dirty or greasy (e.g. kitchen) it'll take a couple of goes before they'll just wipe clean and smear-free.

  • Was an attempt at humour.

  • Ha, I worried after you’d recommended Aldi as I think it was somewhere between my house and there.

  • I use white vinegar to clean a lot of things. For spray it needs diluting with water - I just do 50/50. I'll usually add lemon zest and a couple of sprigs of rosemary as they are usually always on hand. Couple of drops of essential oil is also what I've heard used by others but I don't bother as that's not something I keep in the house. Seems to work for most cleaning duties. For glass / windows a buff with kitchen roll works rather than microfibre which just seems to leave streaks regardless. Do love the smell of fish and chips through so I might use malt instead in the future

  • I'm hoping that as i kept moving the water didn't get in to anywhere. Apart from my shoes, socks and trouser bottoms.

Actually amazed that the rain water was that deep on a segregated cycle path.

  • Onion vinegar for the win?

  • Crumpled newspaper dipped in water, give it a go!

  • Has anybody had a virus recently where they haven’t got much of a cold or bad chest but feel utterly drained and ache everywhere?

It’s not Covid according to a test.

Questioned whether it might be shingles but no rash and my skin isn’t sensitive.

  • Not exactly, but something like that.
Minor cough, slightly sore throat. Weakness and a mild consistent headache is the standout issue.
Everyone in the house has it and when it felt like it was going away, it got worse the next day

  • My OH has had something like this for 2wks. Only just gone in the last few days.

  • Similar. Just under the weather since last Friday. Nothing really stopping me in my tracks, but it’s not exactly pissing off quickly either.

I felt better yesterday so returned to work - too soon, I reckon, so I’ll WFH today and take it easy.

Slightly reassuring that others are experiencing similarly prolonged symptoms because I worry about my apparently poor immunity (medication) and anaemia slowing my body’s response.

  • feel utterly drained and ache everywhere

I do find it quite hard to distinguish being ill from general life state

  • (Nvmd. Didn’t read all the comments)

  • Ha ha. More drained and achey.

  • These responses all sound familiar.

Hope everyone is on the mend.

  • I'll PM you with ideas as I don't want to put attack methods on a public forum.

  • Funnily enough I’ve had something like that this week. Had one day where I probably should have just rested up but didn’t, then a day where I didn’t really have much choice but to rest up, then a day where I thought I was going to need to rest up, but was miraculously loads better at lunchtime. Even took the dog for a much needed (by both of us) walk this morning!

Annoyingly my wife was away for work this week, so I’ve basically used up any and all my goodwill with other parents, getting my kids in to school. Many favours owed!

  • just saw this! makes total logic! maybe to compensate for shorter arms rider... (its for sure Ai)

  • WOW! Fuuuuck thats AWESOME !! i am all for this!!!
