  • Going back to my crank from a little while ago. It looks like I'll be able to get a decent enough chainline on my Genesis Day One with my 105 cranks. Any recommendations for a 110bcd 3/32 chain? Will a 9 speed chainring work alright fixed? Suggestions for a decent 3/32 track cog as well please!

Assuming you mean chainring, Gebhardt Classic

    Yes

    The Andel ones are fine

  • Yep, that's what I meant, thank you!

  • if it's really close you can try spacing out the caliper with some brake washers. Had to do this once with a Spooky.

Tester mentioned the R8000s having a higher arch, i believe that Campy Skeleton brakes also do.

  • Does anyone make front opening bins for going under a sink

@fredtc I recently converted our sink cupboard into a big pull out drawer similar to this and it fits similar to the two pictured bins (no toaster though) to the side of the u-bend. Maybe we were lucky with where the pipes run. Can share pics if would help.

  • I used my chromebook for a work teams call via office365 remotely & now it won't allow me to use personal teams (yes i logged out of work), it says I need my personal email adding to the work domain. Is there a way to purge it so I can get back to normal?

  • I actually don’t have cabinets - just a commercial sink unit

I think one of the haelfe pull out ones bolted to the floor might suit

  • We have one of those with a big filter under the sink I bought used and we love it.
The filtered line is quite slow, the counter for filter change isn't doing what I want it to do, and deciding on which filter cartridge is nerd stuff.
But if you drink a lot of fancy hot beverages it's totally worth it. Water tastes way better. Also the kettle needs descaling once a year not once a month.

  • & @jellybaby thanks this is useful. It's a Bernina Minimatic 807.
She called a Bernina service shop - this part is called the condensor - they say it's not available. If we took it to them they would rewire it to delete it.

I've found this on ebay, does it look suitable?

  • Struggling to free the bearings from this Mavic (Cosmic Carbon) freehub, there is a black retainer thing I can't seem to get loose so I can tap the bearings out. Advice appreciated! 🙏🏼

(PS Manual says body is 1 part but I know it's not ;-))

  • This looks like a (not cheap) possible solution

    https://www.bikingbarn.co.uk/mavic-id360-bearing-tool-V2550201

The ID360 looks like the freehub has a similar lockring retaining the bearing

You might get lucky with a file and one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285455449198

A cheap pin spanner might even be enough if the pins are long enough

  • they say it's not available. If we took it to them they would rewire it to delete it.

That would probably breach some sort of 'thou shall not emit interference' regulation and make anything with a radio nearby sad.

It does look the same. Colours appear different, be cautious wiring.

  • Came across this today
    https://www.mylondon.news/whats-on/greenwich-royal-observatory-meridian-laser-25995480
I lived in london for 14 years and never noticed a giant green beam. Has this really been running every night?

  • I looked a while ago at three way taps but we couldn't really spot any taps we liked and adding a new tap is a fair bump in the cost.

  • Cheers. Tried a freewheel tool like that but the holes in the retainer are not opposite each other alas. But thanks to the cross section pic I now know that it has a thread and thus might/will come loose!

  • It's definitely threaded. Can you start it off by tapping with a screwdriver in a counter-clockwise* direction?

Then some needlenose pliers with either side of the jaws located in the slots... you should be able to rotate it out.

Grease it well when you put it back!

*the one in @fredtc 's photo appears to be a standard thread.

  • Pretty much.

  • Is there a work/personal setting?

Does adding another user change things?

  • Definitely very limited choice, and expensive if new.
If the filtered one was our only kitchen tab the reduced flow would be annoying.
People have those little second tabs, but that looks really bad.

  • Understood, no pics needed then.

  • It was there in the late 90s

  • Just logged in via my gmail as all my android is. I could setup an account and switch between for work/personal maybe worth a try.

  • All this tap filter shite really makes me laugh in northern.

  • Apparently I have a Northern sarcastic tone when saying “Latte”

  • You can just say northern.
