It sits a bit low for what I was looking for. Nice to see some cheaper options coming out though. Blew my mind how expensive some of these small racks are.

Ribmo?

Do you really think more than 50% of private hire / Uber drivers have legit licenses?
Do they fuck? That’s why more than 50% of them can’t actually drive.
-
• #118330
Do you really think having a driving licence correlates in a significant way with being able to drive?
-
• #118331
Hence me querying the legitimacy of the license(s). Someone might have a license, but having passed a test with a questionable examiner.
-
• #118332
To pass a driving test you just need to be able to drive for half an hour without doing anything absurdly dangerous. It's an extremely low bar.
-
• #118333
My point is that most people who have passed the test legitimately are still shit drivers, and most of them get worse rather than better as time goes on. Uberists exhibit a characteristic style of poor driving, but they're usually just annoying rather than dangerous.

Is anyone doing 12 speed compatible 50/37T 110bcd 5 bolt chainrings so I can use some old hollogram cranks with SRAM AXS? Praxis do some, not sure about Rotor and don't fancy Carbon-Ti
-
• #118335
Ha, I've just replied to your pm. Would also be keen to hear about the very same rings.
The best I can come up with is removing the anodising from Praxis rings. Rotor and Carbon Ti are both a bit ugly :( -

Dude, thank you, that’s perfect.

SJS have suggested I need a longer ahead stem converter to fit a velo orange style stem
The website says 65mm min: https://www.geneticbikes.com/shop/products/stems/threadless/aq-road-stem/
I believe them. Apparently I’d be better off with 70mm to clamp to, most adaptors have only 50mm. Any suggestions where to get one? Anyone want able to / want to make one on a lathe for a reasonable fee? Otherwise I will ask yet another favour of my dad/brother…. :/

velo orange style stem
Presumably the Tall Stack style, the one that cheerfully sails past where it's supposed to be going and then doubles back to get there? And you wish to compound this offence against reason by attaching it to a quill adapter, which just turns it into a not very good quill stem? Then you, sir, will surely be desirous of these cranks to complete your build

Needs pedal extenders

Precisely

I did initially buy a quill stem with an alleged 31.8mm diameter clamp and a removable faceplate, but it was so badly made the hole didn’t even look slightly cylindrical and the bars wouldn’t fit.

Happy to help, they ride a little odd at first as they're kinda pointy but that's probably a polo specific problem with lots of leaning, which we all know you should never do.
-
• #118343
I thought you were supposed to lean the bike? 🤔 🤷♂️
-
• #118344
Never lean!

What’s the goto Mavic Ellipses track wheelset quivalent nowadays? While we’re at it the same, but for Sram Omniums?

What’s the goto Mavic Ellipses track wheelset quivalent nowadays?
The nearest equivalent would be the Mavic Ellipse
-
• #118348
Hahaha! Last time I tried to get some they were unavailable from Mavic. That’ll teach me to assume they’d stopped making them.
-
• #118350
Perfect, I’m looking for parts that would show a bike was built now and not like my throw Omniums and Mavics at it like I normally do. It’s not for me and it’s not my money which is even more fun.
I was trying to remember what these were called. There’s knock offs on eBay, but they’re still £55.
The more I look, the more reasonable the Jack looks tbh.
Edit: checked shipping on the jack and it’ll be £100 all in. Back to the drawing board.
Edit2: there is this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225486116322
But it looks crap enough/missing enough details that the Jack has to not make it worth it. The plastic bits that go on the bar are roughly 3d printed, so I’d be skeptical about durability.
