• hjahahahaha it makes your post look so bad

• This is fucked

• Hahahaha sorry man, I found a picture of frowning woman and everything felt perfect

What, you mean this picture that Balki was commenting on?

Whats the general vibe about applying your own choice of decal unto an unknown frame, say a Freddie Grubb decal to a frame I have no idea about? I could imagine that it might be frowned upon.

• you'll just be lying to yourself
and if you are so desperate to impress with your " freddy grubb frame " why not just splash out and feel wholesome and buy a real one

alternatively
invent your own frame builder and have some random decals made up

josh britten custom cycles
andy reamus
or anyone of the following taken from http://www.ethanwiner.com/funnames.html
Dick Bender (real sports person)
Dick Burns
Dick Bush (real person)
Dick Face
Dick Finder (real name of a urologist)
Dick Head, Dick Hertz
Dick Hyman (famous jazz musician)
Dick Hunter (my junior high principal - really!)
Dick Mussell
Dick Pole (real major league baseball player)
Dick Rasch (real person)
Dick Swett
Dick Tator
Dick Trickle (real person, a NASCAR driver)

maybe dick trickle

• if later on you dont lie about it, I would not mind

• @ balki
I'd frown all over its tits.

Funny fucker

• No course not, not to lie about it at all just to have it on the frame for my trip.
Freddie Grubb was just an example.
I was interested in a Reg Harris one to be honest, only because I like the look of the typeface.

I had already thought about thinking up a pretend one. Marvin Dennis is a potential, so is Chuck Terry

• ok then just replace the words freddie grubb in my post above with reg harris
it'll work just the same

• alternatively
invent your own frame builder and have some random decals made up

this is surely the way forward. perhaps a sticker that says 'down tube' in highly stylised writing on the down tube and badge with 'head tube' in foriegn on the front. or something.

• why do i have a spazmick twitch every time i finish pissing? Its been bugging me for years..

• I could do better than Reg Harris if I was desperate to impress

• why do i have a spazmick twitch every time i finish pissing? Its been bugging me for years..

gonorrhea

• why do i have a**** spazmick twitch**** every time i finish pissing? Its been bugging me for years..

Euphemism?

• Is Trevor Horn really named "MR AARON THOMAS HORN"? and Trevor is just a pet name?

• why do i have a spazmick twitch every time i finish pissing? Its been bugging me for years..

do you mean a shudder? I get that, I figured it's cos you're body just lost some heat. Like when you there's a draft on the back of your neck you shudder. so when you dump a litre of wizz, the same thing's happening

• Its called Post-Micturition Convulsion Syndrome apparently

• From the same site where I found out about the piss shakes, made me laugh:

Tonsil Stones are hard, yellowish-white globules that grow in the back of the throat and can become dislodged by coughing or sneezing. After expelling one of these disgusting lumps for the first time, a person may be worried. And if they happen to sniff one of these stones they may panic, because the scent leads one to assume their assholes are attempting to climb out their throats. These mouth-made stink bombs are repulsive, and worst still, oddly fascinating.

• this is surely the way forward. perhaps a sticker that says 'down tube' in highly stylised writing on the down tube and badge with 'head tube' in foriegn on the front. or something.

i've been contemplating this actually. I have a nice old 531 path frame that was long since powedrcoated over that needs a proper paint job. i don't know who made it though... was considering just getting something arbitraty or daft in ridiculously intricate period correct decals... just can't quite decide what.

• If you put Freddie Grubb or any other known frame builder's name on something they didn't build, you'll constantly feel shame when people draw attention to it, regardless of whether they say "Nice" or "Fake". If you make something up, people will either say "Never seen one of those before", to which can honestly say that neither have you, or they might bluff it with some comment about how their earlier ones had different lugs etc. in which case you've won.

• Shame wouldnt come into it, Im not trying to pass it off as one, Its just something pretty to stick on there thats already premade. And what other people would think wouldnt bother me too much either.

I dont actually have anything to falsely badge up yet but having thought about it I dont think i could do it anyway.

Theres something special about having a handmade frame from a small framebuilder and using their logos on something that they didnt make wouldnt be satisfying at all.
I know mercian are a fairly big company but it felt special riding my mercian as I knew that not everyone had a bike like mine. Having known that feeling is the reason why I wouldnt badge a bike of mine wrong.

• Actually its sort of what dicki said minus the desperate to impress. Feeling wholesome etc

• Seen these squares embedded in the pavement in a couple of places around london - this pic is at oldstreet at the north west of the roundabout.

Can anyone tell me what they are?

• Could be designed for visually impaired people to give them clearer visual guidance, but I don't know if that is the explicit or only purpose. Brenda would probably know.

• thanks Oliver it's a thought. There is a green line on the floor round there that leads from the tube exit to the eye hospital for visually impaired i imagine but these don't lead anywhere particularly

• Well, you want to design surfaces so that they look different in different places. That makes it easier for visually impaired people to know where they are. I'm just speculating--it might be part of the Old Street streetscape scheme that's kept being added to over the last couple of years.
