Howdy fellow cripple.
Cut mine off 2 weeks ago. It’s getting better day by day. The stiffness will go quickly for you I’m sure, the strength, flexibility and confidence takes longer. It took ~10 days for the swelling to subside and to look a vaguely normal colour again.
I can now walk happily walk the dog for a couple of hours, just slowly and awkwardly.
If you’ve got a static bike I found that really good, can’t imagine getting running again any time soon though.
I went up a ladder today. Didn’t fall off.

You made that ladder your own, smashed it. My foot is big and red, 8 days after getting the cast off.
Can't wait for Saturday when it goes back to normal!
Keep up the good work

Thanks brother. I’ve just seen your pic on the running thread. Looks like you had a sizeable op. I did not. I suspect that’s a factor.
It’ll come tho. Mine looked much fatter and purpler than that for the first bit, it’s now almost like the other one again.

You can walk a bit I hope?

How can I tell YouTube that I would like its suggestion algorithm to exclude a video if the following terms are in the description:
Roast, reacts, Jordan Peterson, TRUTH (generally capitalised).
I’m sure I’ll think of others, but blocking those would dramatically reduce the shit in my feed.

either of the 2 options here I think

What's the largest cassette you can make work with MTB 11 speed shimano? I always thought it was 46T but I've seen an 11-51T 11spd cassette on Wiggle.

whats the chillest route between temple/holburn and herne hill in the late evening?
im not too familiar with south of the river, havent done much exploring yet, and would prefer not to wrong turn myself into a bad spot when im knackered. -
• #116262
I'd say Blackfriars > Elephant & Castle > Camberwell (via Walworth Rd) & continue straight up Denmark Hill to Herne Hill is a pretty straightforward bet.
Maybe not the chillest route (not sure how Elephant & Castle's roundabout replacement is these days), but definitely the most straightforward. And least likely to end up with wrong turns.

What @mmccarthy said, though Walworth Road is not really very chill! And Denmark Hill depends on your appetite for hills.
From Elephant, I'd probably go past Kennington (massive cycle lane), up towards Brixton and turn left at Brixton Jamm up Loughborough Road > Milkwood Road.
Slightly less direct, but more chill. -
• #116264
I think I'd opt for waterloo, kennington, oval, then left at Jamm to Herne Hill. Not a fan of E&C nor Walworth road
-
• #116265
snap!
-
• #116266
E&C roundabout is 1. not a roundabout anymore and 2. is totally fine if you're not a complete moron. @mmccarthy 's suggestion is what I would do/did when I worked at Blackfriars and commuted to Crystal Palace.
Alternative is E&C - Kenington - Oval - Brixton Rd - Loughborough Road - Loughborough Junction - Milkwood Road
Less of a high streety vibe than Walworth Rd. But if you go Walworth Road you get to stop at Bagel King.

Double snap
-
• #116268
Although turn left on Mostyn Road (one before Jamm) then right on Akerman Road and avoid the clusterfuck one way bit before fiveways.
-
• #116269
Walworth Rd can certainly look a bit dodgy but thankfully I've not had (nor seen) any incidents on my travels along there. Though I'd mainly use Thurlow St/Rodney Rd but that'd put you around Peckham which is probably a bit far East for a trip to Herne Hill.
But yeah, E&C > Oval > Brixton is probably a better suggestion if you're not really familiar with the area.

There's also that cycle lane that runs parallel to walworth road, and spits you out into burgess park. quite a detour but also a quite nice route

This is great everyone, thank you.
I did it via denmark hill last week, which was fine on a weekend morning, but i was skeptical for weekday evenings.
Will test these routes out and learn the lay of the land. -

Once you cross the river, it's all one big bad spot

Has anyone successfully got Royal Mail to add a to their database so it appears on those Find My Address things everywhere else on the internet?
Just tried through form Royal Mail provide for the purpose and a week later they told me I need to get my local authority to inform them.
(the flats have existed for decades but only one of them is in the database)

In the light of the sheer amount of criminality in which occupants of the palace are at least complicit, I'd always thought it was the work of the devil
With co-codamol i've found the effect of the codeine drops off fairly early, but the effect of the paracetamol sticks around. You can imagine my surprise when I finally got round to replacing my 7-year old co-codamol supply and re-experienced the full effect of unexpired codeine 😅
