The double-ended hull and the rudder are reminiscent of an old sailing lifeboat. Some have been adapted as small cruising yachts. (I had a holiday on once.)

Patreon, for a podcast I like, offers bonus content for members.
Anyone know if these are downloadable to my regular podcast app or do I need to stream from Patreon?

Someone tried to steal some bits off my bike the other day, so I've put ball bearings into the heads on my allen bolts. Now I have no way to remove them when I need to; does anyone know where I'll find a reasonably strong magnet on a keyring?
-
• #112980
You'll need an angle grinder to remove the heads from the bolts. Then, something to remove the threaded sections. Good luck.

Are they CA glued in? Acetone will shift that.
Search eBay for super strong disc magnet.

If hou hammered them in then cutting a notch in them with a dremel and removing with a flat head is your best bet.
If they’re not hammered in, a needle or superglued bit of cloth could work.

Just chucked them in with a bit of grease, definitely no angle grinder required.

• #112984
Maybe just a bent needle?

How come non alcoholic beer isn't a lot cheaper? There's less tax/duty surely?
-
• #112988
The duty isn't that much. About 50p on a pint maybe. That's probably wiped out by the economies of scale on alcoholic vs non-alocholic beer at a similar price point.

The joke priced beverages in pubs, based on cost of supply, are post mix fizzy drinks. It's almost like they charge what the market will bear and has little to do with cost.
-
• #112990
They still need to make the beer, then take all the fun out, which probably costs similar to any duty saved.

Isn't that how literally everything everywhere is priced? Cost is only the lower bound of the viable price range, after that it's just a matter of setting the price at the profit maximising level.

Frozen sausage next time? ;)

Some things are allegedly sold below cost.

was there a company that did some weird thing with chainrings for cranks where the bolt diameter meant you could not get any smaller, like there was 2 chainrings in one, the inner chainring a smaller one attached to the outer chainring, which is then attached to the cranks existing bolt holes - so you ended up with either a double (not using the cranks outer ring) or even possibly a triple (using the outer ring) for a crank that could never take that smaller size of chainring......

There's some odd stuff going on with that site.
Picture of a bike with deep section wheel rims, a lugged frame and a cottered chainset.
Something from each century on that one. -

It was a fairly common way to make a triple in the olden days, usually a 110mm PCD middle ring with tabs offset 36° from the main bolt holes to allow a 74mm PCD inner ring to attach
