Understood, and thanks!
Fully enclosed rear brake routing too, which is a bit of a marmite move

Only way it works with hydraulic brakes 😀

Have a look at the jagwire sealed stuff, less resistance than full outers but still no way of dirt getting in.

Do rear fixed wheels with disc tabs exist?
Considering a new build and would probably go disc brakes.(can be centre lock or 6 bolt)
(May not fit a rear brake, but want matching wheels because reasons) -

I looked at same thing a few years back , didn’t bother in the end for various reasons

If you can go 135 mm you could try a single speed Mtb hub and not use a lock ring / use an old cup and cone lock ring

Cheers, I should have UTFS...

There are hubs with 6-bolt disc attachment both sides, so you could fit a disc and a 6-bolt sprocket. They come in 20×110, which is easy to adapt to pretty much any axle standard, although you'd need to make new end caps as well as axle/tube/spacers for 100mm OLN front types.

This loveliness is surely the thing to go for https://www.paulcomp.com/shop/components/hubs/rear-hubs/fixed-disk-word/

PMed!

Wow. Speaking of weird hubs, I don't suppose rim brake with through axle is ever gonna be a thing...
Would be cool AF though

If you start one you could call it “A borrower or a lender be”.

It'd be kinda pointless, one of the main reasons for thru axles is stiffening up forks and resisting forces created by disc brakes.

I think you can buy them from Bitex (rim brake through axle hubs).
Suppose they might be good for tandems too

Is there a simple way to draw a route in kamoot, much like if I was using the old Strava route planner? It keeps trying to plot it for me and constantly moving everything around, doubling back on itself etc.
This is a round trip route.

• #112493
Could you plot in RidewithGPS and then load into komoot?

If you can't find them you can always print your own. I've done this. Water slide decal printing paper, then varnish to protect the decal. Lasts forever, doesn't fade.

Interesting frame...what is it?

Is there some where I can get custom 3D model plastic figurines made up? Less than 50 but pretty high quality would be good

Local to me I'd ask https://www.designworks.studio/ and http://www.mastermodels.co.uk/

Anyone know any alternatives to the Wolftooth Valais that aren't 27 fucking quid? Calling all bodgers

Not so sure about that; while through axles are a thing because discs, ye olde QR interface is a bit on the undercooked side.
When folks talk about how a road bike handles, they might say stuff like, 'the tapered steerer makes it a more confident descender than the previous model' or whatever - which is about having flex where it's intended and rigidity where it isn't - controlled movement.
The QR interface became a thing when everything involved was made of steel. Like HG splines, I question whether moving away from steel is appropriate for that interface, or rather, if moving away from steel is a given, whether you should continue with that interface.
Sure, it's a relatively tiny improvement I'm talking for a whole lot of faff and incompatibility, but if it wasn't for that lock-in issue, IMO it'd be a no-brainer like the countersunk pedal interface Jobst Brandt advocated (which also never got anywhere despite actually having an upgrade path).

Far out. Pretty surprising, given its such a chicken and egg situation...
Sram just wants as smooth a curve as possible. As long as it feels OK to shift then it'll be fine.
I like the fully sealed cable kits.
