Guys
Would a soma fog cutter fork first gen, play nice with a front rack? Meaning, if the hole for the fender is strong enough to be used to attach the pizza rack for example, would never have a super heavy load, nobody will sit on the rack appart from a few beers -

I think @BareNecessities has or had a Fog Cutter, they might know

Could be. They certainly look like a closer match.

I've got a bike (Genesis iO iD Alfine 8) that's been sat in a bike hangar for the past year and is a bit knackered. Both brakes (hydraulic) will need recabling as will the gears (alfine 8 hub) plus a general service, stuff lubricating, etc.
Any very rough estimates on how much that would cost at a bike shop, I've got pretty much no idea?

there are many more qualified on here who will likely answer (i.e. bike mechanics) but for a full general service with gear adjustments I reckon I've paid around £80-100 in the past.

Call your lbs ? : )

You sure? If it's just been left then they're either fine as is, or will maybe need a bleed if they're DOT fluid based. I'd estimate whatever your local places charges for a service (£60 from me, not London prices) plus possibly a chain, sprocket and maybe he's cable, brake bleeds extra if needed, about £20 per brake.

Is there a way of representing a 2x2 logic matrix within a flowchart without repeating a question in 2 separate locations? I've got 2 binary questions that I need to ask, but putting them in either order collapses the possible paths down to only 3 of the 4 possible outcomes for the 2 questions.

Cheers all. Will be popping into my LBS but just wanted a vague idea. At least one of the brake cables is snapped so will definitely need that one replacing.

To all the fixie skidders out there, the question that has been bothering me since I started riding fixie: do bmx pedals and straps keep the shoes clean(er)?
Basically all my shoes look like these thanks to the leather straps, and since I'm heading towards adulthood I feel like that's something I should change.

If the hose is broken then that could be more pricey depending on brakes a new hose can be up to £40 and it'll be at least another £25 labour on top of the service cost.

Is there anything that exists or that I could modify to fit a (roughly) 35x10x10cm spare battery for a cargo bike plus maybe a few extra little bits and bobs? I'd like something sturdy that I could lock (happy to drill and attach a padlock, it doesn't need to be mega secure) and could be bodged to attach to a pannier rack.

On the contrary, the SUV (of which the Range Rover is both the original and most egregious example) is the epitome of childish stupidity

you are absolutely right

Yes. for simple questions, the pattern on the left is readable.
For more complex, longer questions (edit: or if you genuinely need to represent the two questions in the form they are presented to a human) I'd separate the question text from decision logic as on the right.

Stop wearing fucking white shoes.

Cheers, I'll have a proper look at it and then chat to the shop. It's a bit of a faff as it's not rideable at the moment so will probably have to put it in the car to take it in.

Pffft, that’s not strap rash. Proper strap rash has big rusty gouges cut into the front of your Converse and a hole in the side of the sole from the quill! Wear it with pride!
Or 5024.
